The 2023 has been a very hard year for the world and in the movie industry have been also devastating. But here we are, still hanging, still fighting for our dreams, even they look like gigantic monsters to be defeated. This 2023 we took the decision to do this big step and started the MONSTER ART (a older post explain what the project is about)
A place to install our dreams and to make much more come true. We did a first visit last April and after a lot of paper work and looking for financial help, we signed for it on July. The place was a big mess, we had to remove the concrete floor and make a new one, to change all the plumbing and more coming in the next year.
We are really tired, but our illusion is still shining strong. We hope we can show you the final results in this brand new 2024! Thank you to all of you who every day, with a comment, with your contagious enthusiasm, make Montse and I feel supported. ❤️❤️❤️

Este año 2023 ha sido muy duro para el mundo y para la industria del cine ha sido devastador. Pero aquí estamos, aun aguantando, aun luchando por nuestros sueños aunque parezcan monstruos gigantescos a los que vencer. Este 2023 tomamos la decisión de dar este gran paso, empezar el MONSTER ART (un post anterior explica el proyecto)
Un sitio donde instalar nuestros sueños y donde poder crear muchos más. Hicimos una primera visita en Abril, después de mucho papeleo y búsqueda de ayuda para la financiación, firmamos la hipoteca en Julio. El sitio era un desastre, hemos tenido que levantar todo el suelo y sus viejas cañerías para hacerlo todo nuevo y habitable. Ahora vendrán nuevos pasos este nuevo año. Estamos muy cansados, pero nuestra ilusión aun brilla con fuerza. Esperamos poder enseñaros resultados finales este año 2024. Gracias a todos los que cada día, con un comentario, con vuestra ilusión contagiosa hacéis que Montse y yo nos sintamos arropados. ❤️❤️❤️

The Mother Ghost – Crimson Peak 2015
Feeling more Gothic tonight — Mother Ghost.
This spectral figure was a true cross-department collaboration, beginning with a concept by the brilliant @guydavis.art who designed her veiled silhouette and bonnet — fragile, eerie, and decaying.
The prosthetics were masterfully brought to life by @daviddtsfx David Martí, Montse Ribé, and the incredible team at DDT SFX, who built her prosthetics - merging decayed beauty with ghostly sorrow.
Within the costume department, I played with textures in drawing and we did extensive exploration to find the right materials and layering that blended the link between skin and clothing -and extension of her body: almost like a second skin.
The character’s look was heavily inspired by the film's imagery of moths and butterflies, referencing her death by tuberculosis — fragile wings, faded colours, translucent blackened skin. Her costume was built around our creature actor @actordougjones (a long term collaborator of Guillermo's) who played the role. Which meant everything from corsetry to proportions had to scale to his tall male frame, blend with the prosthetics while maintaining the ghostly feminine presence. Mother Ghost's costume was led by our cutter @loreenlightfoot and team. Loreen "Pink", was also responsible for creating and building the majority of Millinery on "Crimson" as well as the abundant cornucopia of flowers and fruit that adorned the clothes. An example of costume, creature design, storytelling and teamwork coming together.

Happy Anniversary to one of my favorite movies and characters. People that knows me well, knows how important this movie was for me. I was 10 yo when my mom took me to see this film and I was scared to death, but I loved so much!!! And since then I learned that I wanted to be part of the movie industry as my goal in life. At that time I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to be, director, actor, stunt… I started filming Super8 films when I was 12, all based on Indiana Jones adventures. With friends and my brother always playing the bad guy. I even make my dad to drag me through the woods with his car. These short films were the seed to my make up carrer. The years passed and 3 years ago I had the opportunity to work for @bcorso making prosthetics for the great @mikemassa1x , stunt and double from Harrison Ford. This is the poster that Harrison kindly signed up for me. Thanks Bill and Mile to make be a veeery little part of the 5th movie.

This is our happy faces after this crazy last month, where we ended with 4 different projects, after a long way! We haven’t stop working for the last two years and on top we had the move.
