Recently, I spoke and shared some artist development tips with the good people at @beat.cave @beatcavemembers . This is something I genuinely love doing, and I'm excited for 2024 because I'm going to dive deeper into consulting artists in the music business. This past week, someone asked me what I'm most proud of in my career; my answer was developing artists and helping them achieve their dreams. It's important that you sharpen your skillsets, and there are many spaces to do it, but make sure it's within the right environment that makes you feel comfortable and safe and pushes you to be the best. #artistdevelopment

Rest in peace, Mr. Complex. Sending love to his family and everyone who was close to him. I first met Plex at Bamboo Nightclub in Toronto in the mid-90s — big shout out to @mastermindlive for the introduction. That connection turned into a friendship, and I’ll always respect him for opening doors for me and my crew early on. One of the first records we did together was “Stupid Dope Fresh,” produced by @darpmalone , with Sims (@celebrating_son_of_soul ) on the cuts, alongside @crossphada and Erldotcom. Those sessions built a strong bond between Plex and Erl, and from there they went on to release numerous records and open doors internationally — touring Europe. This video brings me back to a special time. Another @darpmalone production. I remember hearing Clip from BrassMunk at Planet Mars — one of the city’s legendary hiphop nights — and thinking he’d be perfect for the record and “Desire” was born. What I’ll always remember about Plex was his humor and lyrics. Also was willing to open doors at time when not everyone was. He was staple in NYC scene and rocked with many legends and his group with @djspinna . I booked Plex in Toronto for a show with Arcee and Fatski opening around 99. Grateful for the moments.
