@david_eagle_ has been handmaking the wines @therianthropy_wine since the beginning (2018) and they’ve garnered a bit of a cult following in Ontario and across Canada. The wines are low-intervention – they prefer this term to ‘natural’ – and strive to highlight the unique terroirs of Ontario with this unadulterated approach. None of the wines are fined or filtered; all are wild/spontaneously fermented. No new oak barrels are used and adorable cast stone egg vessels (i.e. natural concrete tanks) are preferred.
The artwork by @micheltolmer is what catches many eyes: known in France for his iconic wine-related illustrations, he helps bring the half-human, half-animal ‘shapeshifters’ of Therianthropy to life. Every wine gets a new label in every vintage, because every year the wine is NEW and unique, especially when you’re making natural wine. So, look out for these at the show because they’re here today and gone tomorrow, never to be recreated.
Sunday Funday PTG Nouveau Bottling Party
This coming Sunday Funday, November 24th, we’re welcoming our friends @therianthropy_wine and their wonderful 2024 Passe Tout Grains Nouveau. Gamay & Pinot Noir from the Vinemount Ridge appellation come together to give us a fresh, fruity & fun first look at the vinous fruits of this year’s harvest. 5pm until 10pm you can; chat with @david_eagle_ have a glass, take a bottle to-go or bottle your own from tank and then use our corker to seal it up. Archive will be open from 3pm until 12am as normal if you want to come a little early or the party keeps going until late.
