Leading up to Harper’s birth, friends and family shared—and sometimes warned about—their experiences of entering parenthood. They spoke of sleepless nights, the mountains of diapers we’d need to buy, and the deep, instinctual love I would feel for my daughter.
What I don’t recall hearing much about was the breathtaking experience of watching your partner become a mother.
Over the past seven weeks, Rachel’s calm and confident presence has become the foundation of our family. Her strength and selflessness are the essence of motherhood, and the love and connection she shares with Harper is unparalleled.

NOVEMBER: Perhaps my favorite month in the Hudson Valley. The air is crisp, the trails are (for the most part) empty and the end of the calendar year brings about feelings of gratitude for what has recently taken place (slides 1-9) and anticipation for what’s to come (slide 10).
BACK TO THE START: This week @peoplevslarsen will be recording together for the first time in over five years. Life has taken us to many places over that time, but through it all, we still find ourselves looking forward to the music we make together. The plan: three sessions in three different locations with three different configurations. We can’t wait to share what we have been working on with all of you.
A week since we played our final show in Perth and I am still riding the high.
This was my third trip to the Southern Hemisphere with @pmjofficial and although many things have changed over the years, the one thing that remains the same is the gratitude I feel while being on stage with such a phenomenal group of musicians.
