Ready to push your foot technique to the limit? Today, we’re tackling 32nd notes using a single pedal, based on this Pattern.
The challenge here isn't just pure speed—it’s precision and smooth transitions between the intricate doubles and single strokes. Mastering this drill requires focusing on evenness and consistency. A key technique I focus on for this exercise is relaxation and precise ankle motion.
Pro Practice Tip: Start very slow, perhaps around 40-50 BPM for the quarter note. Make sure every single 32nd note is clean and clear. Do not speed up until it feels effortless and the rhythm is perfect.

The Industrial Roots of Thun
Back to where it all began. 🏭🥁
For the final chapter of this series, we chose the Konzepthalle in Thun. This location is more than just a backdrop for me; it’s a return to my roots. Having lived in the Selve area for years, the raw, industrial charm of these old buildings feels like home.
The contrast was incredible—the rugged, weathered textures of the hall meeting the polished shine of my drum kit. It’s the perfect visual representation of "Street Beats."

After the soft morning light in the hills, things got a bit edgier.
Next stop: Skatepark Steffisburg. This is where the "Street" aspect of my concept truly came to life. The raw concrete, vibrant graffiti, and sharp curves provided the perfect urban backdrop for my beats.

We started when the world was still fresh and silent. High above Steffisburg, with a breathtaking view of Thun, we captured the very first rays of sunlight. It’s the essence of my "Street Beats" concept that has been with me for years now: grabbing a compact drum kit and heading out into the world.
Using nature and unconventional locations as my stage is a massive source of inspiration. Placing a drum kit where you’d least expect it releases a unique kind of creative energy.
