'Haunted ' is the fourth song from the âSamplerâ EP', and by far the most unsettling, and widely heard as well. While âHauntedâ sounds a bit ghost-like as a title, that is not what songwriter Trevor Faville had in mind ; "I had been reading interviews with folks who had what was known as Schizophrenia, and I worked some of their experiences into imagining what it might be like to be looking out at the world like that- what the whole experience might be like, really to help me my head around it as I had interacted with some folks dealing with that when I was younger and working in hospitalsâ This was also a chance to explore movie style soundscapes ,and a chance encounter in the early internet days found the âThe Guides will help youâ sample- which is an alleged EVP or âghost voiceâ. âHaunted â had the regular crew of Bevan Galbraith( bass) and Grant Blackler ( guitar), with Sehai Orgad singing on her last track for DateMonthYear. Dan Howard handled the production. âHauntedâ got itself licensed around the world in myriad TV , Movie and documentary opportunities including the History Channel and shows like âWild Planetâ
Again, it has been remastered and reissued on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure.

Lovesafety ' is the third song from the âSamplerâ EP' , following on from âCrashâ and âInsideOutâ - hope you are all keeping up! âLovesafetyâ is something of a more cynically melancholic exploration of dysfunctional relationships. Faville says "dysfunctional relationships are a pretty standard topic for songwriters, and I find traditional love songs to be something of a dead end for me anyway, so I enjoyed writing this somewhat twisted take on the whole subject I really like the repetition of the last lineâ everything crumbles eventuallyâ, it's so deliciously bleak!â The whole EP was produced by Dan Howard at Click Sound studios, 'Lovesafetyâ used the same drum-and-vocal combo of Trevor Faville and Sehai Orgad, plus two experienced musicians in the form of Bevan Galbraith( bass) and Grant Blackler ( guitar) Again, it has been remastered and reissued on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure. Thanks, as always, for listening - see you next week for the final instalment!

'InsideOut 'was the second song from the âSamplerâ EP' , of which âCrashâ(last week's reissue)was the opener. The mood for this one is more introspective, with a lyrical approach exploring the trials and tribulations of growing up.
Songwriter Trevor Faville-being a bit more effusive this time- says;
âI was happy with the main lyric with this, with the description of growing up as being âCloser to the surface, fighting for air, working on the Inside outâ its about becoming the person you want to be, but also that to get there will take effortâ Produced by Dan Howard at Click Sound studios, 'InsideOut' used a more subtle instrumentation of percussion, acoustic guitar and 808 drum machine(!) framing a vocal from Sehai Orgad Again, it has been remastered and reissued on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure. 'Crash' was the very first recorded DateMonthYear song, and has been remastered and reissued on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure.
In typical terse style, writer Trevor Faville describes it thus;
"its a song about dumb people doing stupid things" Produced by Dan Howard at Hamilton, New Zealand's much missed Click Sound studios, 'Crash' subscribes to the 'more cowbell' concept at the intro before piling into a typically DateMonthYear disturbing chorus lyric. Check the comments for the landing page- the link will allow you to select the streaming platform of your choice.
and while you are there, please comment if you have a preferred streaming platform, and the landing page can be edited for your ease of access.
another reissue next week!
