My first release of 2026 comes in the form of a remix I did for the incredible @dastgamachine This was recorded late last year as I came home from a 6 week journey in the UK and buzzing from the endless inspiration I heard throughout from jungle to UK Drill. It was an honour to take the voice of Parisa, the revered Persian classical music singer, alongside Dastgamachine’s dubwise backing to create something brand new for your ears. I share my space on this record alongside a live off the floor recording from @dastgamachine electroacoustic trio, a bassbomb of a remix from @_neonlichter in true junglist style, and a chugging dub-techno excursion from @_wavemap As I write this the Iranian people are actively continuing their resistance against the regime. We hope that those of you who are moved by our music, take the time to educate yourself on what’s happening over there and listen to Iranian voices. Iran has a rich cultural heritage which valiantly pushes through the grip of the regime. We must continue to be louder, stronger and smarter than the forces which try to keep the people down. ✊🏾💚🤍❤️ DASTGÂMACHINE — BÂZSÂZI Releases Friday Jan 23, 2026 @linkmusiclab

🌷Nowruz: An Evening of Music + Community 🌷 @passedoutonapersianrug Salar Ansari (Detroit & Tehran // underground techno cultivator // Analog Room co-founder) @cinnapeyghamy Cinna Peyghamy (Paris // Persian percussion meets analog synthesis) @dastgamachine Dastgâmachine (Toronto // psychedelic musique concrète) + projection art by @Farbod_Maeen 🗓️Thursday March 19 📍Wavelength @ St. Anne’s (Downstairs), 651 Dufferin Street – Toronto ⏰Doors 9:30pm 🎉All Ages 💵$26 Single tickets plus taxes and fees at bit.ly/WMFC2026 ❤️Discounted tickets are available to members of the Iranian community to use at your own discretion. Co-presented with @LinkMusicLab / Experimental Link Series. As the people of Iran continue fighting for freedom, we are centering Iranian artists and their contributions to Toronto’s music scene. This year’s Nowruz does not feel celebratory for many of us, and we don’t claim to have clear answers about how to move forward. What we do know is that remaining silent does not feel right. Some of us need a space to come together. To hold one another, grieve, resist, and heal. Through this gathering, we aim to amplify Iranian voices and create that space with care. Coinciding with the Spring Equinox, this night sits between renewal, remembrance, and gathering. Our Nowruz lineup showcases Toronto’s vibrant Persian leftfield electronic music scene, alongside visiting artists from Detroit and Paris. United by the Iranian diaspora, Salar Ansari, Cinna Peyghamy and Dastgâmachine bring distinctive sounds and classical instrumentation to the world of dub, techno, and musique concrète.

Our hearts are with each of you who may be grieving the loss of a loved one, who cannot connect with family even on a phone call, who are living in fear, who are risking their lives on the streets of Iran and with everyone carrying the weight of the ongoing brutality. We have reshaped the flow of the night in response to the times we are living in. The focus will turn toward the deeper sounds of Iran, with DJ selections informed by the spirit of resistance and transformation. Let us gather, play for Iran, and come together as one voice. Link Music Lab descends below Lansdowne for the first Experimental Link of 2026 Detroit mainstay Sard (Sabze Recordings) and Toronto linchpin Raf Reza (Orphic Apparition) improvise and mutate genres across the limits of their hardware and the bassbins. Link’s resident dubheads Dastgamachine (Mahmood Schricker on setar and Jason Rule/Neonlichter on electronics) open the night as a duo (sadly without Caleb Klager/Wavemap) in tandem with the release of their 2nd EP “Bazsazi” on Link Music Lab, featuring remixes from Raf, Neonlichter, and Wavemap. DJ activities before between and after live sets. @bsmt254toronto @sard @raf.reza @dastgamachine @_neonlichter @mahmoodschricker Design by: @seysaan Link Music Lab acknowledges the generous support of Canadian Heritage, Toronto Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.

Assembled from live excerpts of their riotous Infinite Jest residency at Tapestry in Kensington Market, the Toronto trio embrace a legible and unique form of psychedelia, incorporating the sounds and production techniques of dub, techno, and musique concrete into the Dastgâ system of arranging classical Persian art music. Shifting rhythms and subterranean memories anchor melodies rooted centuries ago, fragments of radio plays, ghazals and ghosts, preachers and predictions, all form part of their transcultural soundworld. @dastgamachine @cale______b @_neonlichter @mahmoodschricker Photo: @green__yang
