This is my Hugo. My goober head, chicken foot, mean bean, turkey. He’s dog reactive, only likes a short list of people and prefers cuddling on his terms. He carefully trims his own nails with his teeth to make sure no one has access to his feet. He loves watermelon. He sings me songs when I get home. He’s an expert paper shredder. He won’t leave the house without everyone in it because he’s part herding dog. I’d like to say he wouldn’t hurt a fly but they’re his favorite thing to hunt and he’s always successful. He huffs at men walking 30 feet or less behind me at night until they cross the street. He did this photo shoot only for the ball, which he promptly skinned. He’s not for the weak and I love him. If you have a Hugo in your life, you know how incredible that is. I’m donating my time and photo skills to raise money for @arfbeacon at the @hyperboleny fundraiser event on April 5. I hope everyone gets to have a Hugo at some point, in whatever shape he takes, and no-kill shelters like @arfbeacon make that possible. I didn’t paint this whole year, not even once. My easel was used as a clothing rack and I felt bad about it every day. But this year I also watched my beautiful friends make magic in the shape of small humans, I got to hear their hearts shared through their music and I was so very lucky to be able to document their creations. While I take photos more than I paint, I rarely share any of them here. Thank you friends for giving me this creative outlet, it was so fulfilling and much needed. @spring_liketheseason you’re the perfect collaborator, few people would be up for a pant-less Poor Things look or Juergen Teller in the living room vibe on a randomly Monday 🙌 and you crushed both. My friend Julia released an ep and went on an insane tour this year. @daddy.long.limbs your voice is the only one that makes me cry in public and our photo times are always a serotonin boost, a perfect balance. I’m so grateful for your friendship. * She goes on tour again in the spring and tickets are available now!!🖤 @b2b_marketing_tips Carolyn you were the first person to take a chance on my art in Beacon and the reason I have my incredible community now. I couldn’t believe the hot shop owner wanted to see my work. I’m forever grateful. I don’t know how you juggle all you do and I love being able to show you how I see you. 😍 @songsbythejojos The kindest, most humble, talented :: stunning:: couple released an album this year, give them a listen! @laura_byrne_ny and her hubby created two wonderful things these year. The other being delicious @oui_oui_hv_catering served from a most adorable trailer. And Laura is a goddess unicorn, with the most majestic hair.
