Dark Summer Book Fest is Saturday, August 8th at the Framingham Public Library @frampub . “Leila Siddiqui is a Chicago-born Texan who calls New York home. She is currently the co-host of Come Play With Us, a spooky storytelling podcast, and also works in publishing in the marketing department. Leila spent a childhood fascinated by history and horror, and how intricately both can be entwined, and now wants to write the kind of fantastical and strange fiction she loved to read growing up, by shedding light on pieces of history the rest of the world tends to forget or write off. She is a horror film devotee and when not writing, spends her time crafting and fawning over her very floofy cats. Dark Summer Book Fest is Saturday, August 8th at the Framingham Public Library @frampub . “Shane Hawk (Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma) is a horror writer, editor, and creator of the Native Horror Index. He serves as a contributing editor at Counterpoint Press, where he exclusively acquires and edits works by Native and First Nations writers. His writing career began in 2020 with the release of his short story collection Anoka. Hawk is the coeditor of the bestselling anthology series Never Whistle at Night and cowriter of the horror stage play The Land Has Spoken. Horror Week continues with Renee S. DeCamillis @renee_s._decamillis ! Join us for Dark Summer Book Fest at the Framingham Public Library @frampub on Saturday, August 8th. “Renee S. DeCamillis is a horror author and editor. Her books include The Bone Cutters, Book 1 in The Bone Cutters series, Chisel the Bone, Book 2 in the series, and Try Not To Die: By Your Own Hand, an interactive choose your own path charity novel about suicide ideation. Her short fiction appears in various anthologies, and her poetry appears in the HWA Poetry Showcase Volume IV. Renee is a member of the Horror Writers Association and the New England Horror Writers. She has worked as an editor for Crystal Lake Publishing, Wicked House Publishing, and is currently an editor for Vincere Press and an editor for hire at Reedsy. Renee is also the lead singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist for the punk-metal band Scars Aligned. She earned a BA in psychology, an MFA in Popular Fiction Writing, and attended Berklee College of Music as a music business major with guitar as her principal instrument. Renee is a former model, school rock band teacher, creative writing teacher, private guitar instructor, A&R rep for an indie record label, therapeutic mentor, psychological technician, and preschool teacher. She is also a former gravedigger; she can get rid of a body fast without leaving a trace, and she is not afraid to get her hands dirty.
