THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS are featured on the cover of the latest Amped new release magazine from Alliance. CD copies of “Sandbox” (the fifth studio album) will be in stores on July 3. Retailers: please hit up @amped.distribution and/or @revhq to secure your copies for release day. The LP is TBA and we have not assigned a street date just yet. There was an issue with the original lacquers that needed to be worked through which inherently caused unforeseen delays. It will be well worth the wait. :) 📸: @aknightp . . #july3newreleases #theallamericanrejects #allamericanrejects #sandbox

Happy 25th Anniversary to MAJORITY RULE’s “Interviews With David Frost” LP. This album and this band are rare things in the sense that, while both were ahead of their time musically, production-wise, and politically, virtually every facet ended up being widely adopted not just across the subculture, but in very much above-ground albums, presentations, and even in the mouths of talking heads across the media landscape. A lot of us who worked on and/or listened to the album and believe in its messaging still get whiplash when hearing the same sentiments now casually being expressed in any given conversation you could overhear in your neighborhood dog park. I’d attribute that to Majority Rule always having it dialed in on all fronts from this record on. Sonically, while most of us in their orbit would just turn up as loud as we could in any given room, Pat, Kevin, and Matt could always override those primal tendencies and quickly calibrate a sonic balance that was ultimately optimal for their unique dynamic range and the room itself. I can’t count how often our friends and mutuals would express loving jealousy as we all stood and watched the band play night in and night out. Just as impressively, the messaging and ethos of the album and the band just continued on for the past two decades and a half, both in subsequent Majority Rule albums and in @nomanband , the band they’ve been doing with @mahashami almost ever since. It’s an honor to be a custodian to such a tremendously special album. Every time a new pressing is in order, a unique sensation overwhelms… perhaps a deep appreciation that new generations of people who, in a general sense, *demand more* still find potency in a musical work that was truly always calibrated right on target. Thank you to @pat_broderick_or_whatever / @kevinlamiell / and @vivastudiova for deeply inspiring then and now… and constantly blowing minds. ♥️ (Pictured: the first Magic Bullet pressing on white vinyl) . . #majorityrule #interviewswithdavidfrost #magicbulletrecords #darkoperative

March 9, 2001: @pageninetynineband bleeding out at BRYCC house in Louisville, Kentucky (likely set up by the Patterson brothers and/or Chris Owens) on a spring tour with Waifle + some of the dates with @majorityruleband . Louisville was the first stop where @pg99bassist joined up with the caravan. Given the tight quarters and enthusiastic turnout at BRYCC, it didn’t take long for Cory’s head to clip the edge of a cabinet and start gushing. Fellow bassist @ghastlycitysleep was so kind as to to take Cory to the hospital and stay with him throughout the night. The rest of the touring party used the incident to stage an elaborate prank (involving real cops and EMT’s who were in on it) on @blakiefingers for missing load out and other arbitrary metrics. Either way, the prank worked and we’re all grateful that Cory was ultimately okay. Pageninetynine plays Nashville, TN tonight at @drkmttrcollective . Some tickets may be available at the door. 📸: @brenteyestone . . #pageninetynine #pg99 #2001 #vintagepunk

Bandcamp Friday: BLACK MARE “Elizabeth” Digital Single Furthering the album’s rhythmic meditations on grand topics such as the great mystery of death, dissolution, exile, and the abyss, this standalone track directly invokes historical figures whose work, philosophies, and life still deeply resonate in modern existence. From the artist herself: “Queen Elizabeth the 1st and her work with John Dee are the inspiration behind this song. She was deeply involved with magick and alchemy, and shares an astrological planetary placement with me that has permeated my life deeply in terms of independence, and is theorized to have had the same effect on her.” “It’s is an inner allegory of transformation about my own conscious evolution, as well as a sonic thread of this powerful and magical female matriarch being sewn into the hidden tapestry of the ‘America,’ which is made of ideas.” /

COFFINDROP is a heavy skate-rock project featuring @robtrujillo of @metallica , Rick Smith of @torche_band , @brenteyestone and @graham.scala of Bleach Everything, Kurt Ballou / @godcitymusic of @converge , and Kyle Durfey of @pianosband . Members of the project originally assembled in Venice, California several years back to hang out and cover a bunch of Black Sabbath songs. As everyone got loose, shared Ozzy stories, and did their best to do The Prince of Darkness and the Birmingham lads justice, the collective idea was hatched to write something entirely new on the spot and record it. Not too long after, material was down on tape (courtesy of friend and Renaissance Man Chris Owens) and shipped out to Kurt Ballou with an open invitation to join in the fun. Eventually, the dulcet tones of Kyle Durfey’s voice also found their way to the project and Kurt mixed the entire thing himself out in Massachussets. "Shining Wizard" and "The Sounding Wall" are being issued as a standalone 7" and as part of the Dark Operative compilation LP "It Came From The Abyss: Volume 2." With cover illustrations by @florianbertmer and Matt Stikker / @bargainbinblasphemy respectively, it's a pleasure to now be able to share the collective's love of heavy music, cool graphics, skateboarding, and collaboration with others, right down to all royalties for the project being entirely donated to @theskateparkproject . First press NEON PINK vinyl edition on 7" format by @darkoperative . Comes with double-sided foldover cover. Limited edition of 500 copies. PREORDER now at coretexrecords.com Please note that the cover, print, or vinyl color may differ from the final product.

Released May 28th 2024 via @darkoperative after a prolonged silence. 🕳️ “Outsiders” collects long-out-of-print tracks from split 7”s with Lycia and Offret, the split LP with Syndrome, and a rare digital compilation. As a special bonus, the program also features an alternate version of a track from the “Field of the Host” LP titled “Blind One AD” and a brand new track titled “The Atropos Cut.” Several years ago I was recording another project (@idesofgemini ) in a studio in Burbank which was owned by someone far more in touch with the status quo world of labels, industry standards, the business of music, etc…than I ever have been. He heard some of my music and nonchalantly referred to it as “Outsider Art”…a term I’d never heard, but indeed I’d always felt like an outsider. For anyone unfamiliar with the term here is a little summary: “The term outsider art was coined in 1972 as the title of a book by art critic Roger Cardinal. It is an English equivalent for art brut (French: [aʁ bʁyt], “raw art” or “rough art”), a label created in the 1940s by French artist Jean Dubuffet to describe art created outside the boundaries of official culture. Dubuffet focused particularly on art by those on the outside of the established art scene, using as examples psychiatric hospital patients, hermits, and spiritualists.” I resonate so deeply with both the illuminations and trials and tribulations of psychiatric hospital patients, hermits and spiritualists and really all rebels, exiles, and outcasts throughout time, that I decided to honor this role of the eccentric unpolished innovator under the umbrella of the Outsider. ☂️ 👽🎤 𓏢 NEW TRACK ELIZABETH drops 4.22. 11 years ago today on 4.18.2015 this Black Mare/Lycia split was released for Record Store Day via @magicbulletrecords I met @tara_vanflower_lycia from @lyciaband online, and was so grateful to share a mutual admiration of one another’s work, and the idea for a collaboration was born shortly after that. She recorded a vocal track along side mine for Low Crimes which gives this song an extra ethereal layer of dreaminess, and Lycia recorded Silver Leaf for this 7” split. This is also the only Black Mare track to ever be recorded with a live drummer, one Andrew Clinco of @drabmajesty . Lastly, it’s also the only Black Mare song with a music video directed by yours truly @lvx.vault More music coming soon…new track Elizabeth drops 4.22!
