Daniel Doherty is a Dublin-based music producer and composer with over 13 years of experience at the helm of Darklands Audio, a renowned recording studio in the heart of the city. Known for his versatility across genres, Daniel has worked with an impressive range of international artists including Denzel Curry, Obie Trice, Hope Sandoval, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Coolio, alongside many of Ireland’s most exciting acts such as Fontaines D.C., Versatile, Meryl Streek, Damien Dempsey, Somebody’s Child, Big Sleep, Qbanaa, and EFE.
Daniel is also an accomplished film composer, having created original scores for three award-winning feature films – Cardboard Gangsters and The Black Guelph – as well as the upcoming release Glitched.
With a deep passion for nurturing young and emerging talent, Daniel is dedicated to creating a collaborative, supportive studio environment where artists can develop their sound, push creative boundaries, and grow in confidence.
It was a dream having @jesusandmarychain in with producer Tony Doogan last year working on Glasgow Eyes. I just got the vinyl today and I'm a happy man see the video above.... Big thanks to their manager David McBride too

Writing an appreciation post to everyone who reached out with kind words for the song it means a lot. A huge thank you to @merylstreek_ for inspiring me to just do it- “having doubt is the only thing that will ever hold you back”. Dan @darklands for an excellent recording and sick production ideas and Richard @blowtorchrecords for all of the help with the launch and press. Looking forward to the next one!

this song has been sitting in my notes app for a year now. I usually find myself subconsciously softening my songs, out of fear of how they might be perceived. but this one I wrote for myself. I let it sit in my phone until I figured out if it was ready.
a year later I finally decided it was and I went to dublin and worked with dan. dan is the man. he has this ability to be able to bring a song to life. from having me record these mad looking percussion instruments I’ve never ever heard of to him casually rocking out on the drums and then walking back in to listen back like it was nothing. getting to work with him was truly an amazing experience. what a talent.
anyways enough yap. ‘not so sweet sixteen’, a year old idea - finally alive, out this Friday 🫶
