It is with deep concern that we, the family and children of the late Artis Ivey Jr., known to the world as Coolio, address recent developments regarding the unauthorized documentary series by Tyme Johnson of Tyme Productions and Clyde “Spoon” Colen.
We unequivocally state that neither Tyme Johnson, Tyme Productions @tyme__ , nor Clyde “Spoon” Colen @big_spoony_c has been authorized by Coolio’s estate or family to represent or speak on behalf of Coolio in any capacity. The content and direction of their documentary series are not endorsed by Coolio’s family or estate, and we firmly distance ourselves from this project.
Coolio’s family and estate are deeply distressed by this unauthorized attempt to depict his life and legacy. We are committed to preserving the integrity and respect of Coolio’s memory, and we will not tolerate any misrepresentation or exploitation of his legacy.
As a result, we are taking immediate legal action to halt the production and distribution of this documentary series. We urge the public and Coolio’s fans to disregard any claims or representations made by Tyme Johnson, Tyme Productions, or Clyde “Spoon” Colen concerning Coolio.
Our family appreciates the ongoing support and respect for Coolio’s legacy. We are dedicated to ensuring his story is told with the dignity and authenticity he deserves.
