Lil' (very) late sharing this, but the NYTimes did a special edition that had my future of New York drawings in it 🕰
Thanks for holding it up so i could take a picture @vanderyacht
Some drawings for @nytimes of imagined futures of NYC 🔮
A handful of notable New Yorkers were asked what the city’s arts scene will be like in 2050
Some were optimistic, others dystopian. I guess time will tell ⏳
Thanks so much to Alice Fang for the assignment, this was a really fun one 🥳
Our book Next To Me was selected to be in @soi128 Original Art show! This annual exhibit showcases art from some of the best illustrated picture books published in the last year in the US.
We’re very honored to be included alongside so many artists’ work we admire 🙂🖼️
The show will run from Oct 15 - Dec 27 2025
It’s Pub Day for me and Sophia’s book!
Next To Me is about a kid’s walk home from school and their bedtime routine, and all the things they notice along the way. It’s about our place within the larger community and about finding a sense of comfort in our routines.
Sophia and I wrote together, sketched together, made a crazy amount of paper and cut out hundreds of objects (mostly Sophia did that part because i dont have very good fine motor skills) and we glued it all down together. And now it’s a book!
Thanks so much to @laurihornik@lilymalcom and @rebeccagent for helping us though out the whole process.

Part 1 of neighborhood inspirations for our book Next to Me! A salon, a deli and laundromat are classic New York establishments that are part of the visual landscape of our city. We loved taking a closer look at all the signage and cool details (like food collages lol) that make up each storefront. There’s so much to see in just one city block 🏙️
We’re excited to share a few crops from NEXT TO ME, a book that @sophiaghaas and I have been working on this past year and that will be coming out in May of 2025! 🐣
It is a story of how a walk through the neighborhood is an opportunity to observe all the happy details along the way 👁️👁️ 🌳🐦☁️🚗
