Having arrived in Cape Girardeau less than 24 hours before the event we drove all over town before finding a little bridge crossing over a tributary of the Mississippi River.

We arrived in Dallas Saturday, originally planning on seeing the eclipse in Lake Buchanan, TX... after checking on weather, we packed up the cargo area of our Hyundai Santa Fe and traveled up the path of totality toward clearer skies. After an impromptu 500-mile road trip, we ended up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Clear skiers prevailed after a morning of fog and we were able to fully experience the eclipse in all its glory. Thanks to the great team at @HyundaiUSA for providing us with the all-new Santa Fe to take on this once in lifetime adventure. #HyundaiPartner #HyundaiSANTAFE

Can’t believe it’s been a whole decade since I captured my very first timelapse video - the moon rising behind Los Angeles. Looking back, I see so many mistakes, but the basics were on point! This shot took me an entire night to shoot and many many many (like way too many) more nights to edit and process. A total of 5k+ images, captured over 7+ hours were used in this composite. The effect is achieved by adding the luminance of each photo in the timpelapse on top of the other. That means any light moving through the shot will added too... like planes. Unfortunately my shot framed up one of the busiest flight paths in the US. There were only a few moments in the middle of the night when there weren't any flights. The last image shows the unedited composite.
