Whatās the biggest piece of advice pro runner @waleedmsuliman would give? Trust your coachās plan.
Itās easy to get caught up in training and think more is better, but that mindset can lead straight to burnout.
A great coach is able to bring an objective perspective. They are able to see the long game when you may be stuck in the day-to-day.
If something feels off, speak up; communication matters in maintaining trust in your plan. But constantly changing things mid-season usually does more harm than good.
A great coach has the entire season mapped out before the work even begins. Fully buying into a solid plan will always beat half-committing to a perfect one.
3rd World Championship gold medal.
Each one we do not take for granted.
Each won is very significant in its own way.
This one required @julianrayflorez@kylepfaffenbach@thejudemoulton@elevatephw@sarahfbair@therapease2020 and Jose to all trust each other to help you come back. It required you to throw yourself fully back into the process, knowing all too well this sport can be cruel and unfair.
9 years working together and you still come up with ways to inspire me. Congratulations, my friend.
I know what you put into this one.
Now letās chase a few more of your dreams @joshhkerr@brooksbeaststc@brooksrunning šŗ š§±

Iām so excited to share this conversation on the Iāll Have Another Podcast with Allie Buchalski with you (episode 615!!). Allie runs professionally for the Brooks Beasts, focusing on the 5,000 meters, and sheās someone Iāve wanted to have on the show for a long time. Sheās incredibly down-to-earth, has a great sense of humor, and brings a thoughtful perspective to racing and training.
Allie ran for Furman University, where she finished second at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 5K. Right out of college, she signed with Brooks, and she just re-signed with them, continuing her training under coach Danny Mackey in Seattle. She recently placed fifthājust milliseconds out of fourthāat the USATF 5K Road Championships in Indianapolis, and we recorded this episode shortly after that race. Our conversation ended up being even more reflective and grounded than what we originally planned to chat about in person.
We talk about how working with a sports psychologist has shifted her mindset in racing and how thatās changed her career trajectory. Allie opens up about her love for basketball, growing up in Georgia, and the unique way she approaches racing with both intensity and joy. She also shares a bit about her goals for this season and what it means to her to represent Brooks and compete at a high level.
This was one of the easiest and most natural interviews Iāve ever recorded, and I canāt wait for you to hear it!
