EP Yaying × Shanghai Fashion Week AW2026 Finale | Visual Documentation A collection of rehearsal stills and live moments. The visual narrative follows a chromatic evolution, from the pale pink of early spring, through living greens, to the deep summer blue. Algorithmic topographies interwoven with a river of light across the stage. At the finale, pink and green particles scattering like petals, dissolving into the clothes, into the soundscape. From emergence to return, everything is stilled into these fleeting frames. Cuì 萃 - where elements gather, energies converge, and beauty takes root and grows. Honored to create the visual world for @epyaying_official × @shanghai_fashionweek 2026 Finale this spring. The show moved beyond the traditional runway. Light rivers flowed across the floor as mist and layered mountains shifted on screen - real and imagined, breathing together. Visuals rose and fell with the music, shifting from blush white through living green into the deep blue of summer. Landscapes generated by algorithm, reimagining an Eastern aesthetic in a new visual language. At the finale, pink and green particles fell like petals. Dissolving, drifting, returning. ‘first contact’ originates from science fiction, describing the first encounter between extraterrestrial intelligence and humanity. It marks an irreversible critical point, and also refers to the moment of impact when a viewer first encounters a system or space - an unanticipated experience. The logo is derived from a circuit switch diagram, pointing to the moment of transition and activation. Studio first contact is a London-based new media art studio. It focuses on translating complex systems into perceptible space and installations, exploring between precision and surreal imagination. Our work includes interactive installations, visual content, laser and lighting systems, as well as immersive environments. Mountains and Seas is an immersive installation inspired by classical Chinese Taihu stones. 3D-printed rockery-like columns and mirrored acrylic panels form a reflective spatial system. Laser beams cut through mist, turning light into a fluid material. Reflections multiply endlessly, forming a luminous forest where landscape, structure, and perception dissolve into a shifting field. Combined with mirrored acrylic panels, they generate a dynamic, highly reflective immersive space. Lasers cut through mist, turning the environment into a flowing sea of light. Reflections multiply endlessly between mirrors, growing into a luminous forest. Translucent projection screens layer with these elements to conjure a world - Mountains and Seas.
