Had a great time @garverfeedmill with @chef_jamesss for @reapmadison having a friendly cook off using only items we got that morning from the farmers market. My dish was lions mane on top of fresh sorrel, collards and pea shoots, served with a jalapeño vinegar and pickled carrots topped with Arugala micro greens.

Come and support REAP! I will be doing my classic Texan Vegan Chili to benefit the organization! It is REAP's first ever Chili Cook-Off, hosted graciously by Holy Wisdom Monastery. The event will be a show-down of three of Madison's top chefs - Felipe Saint-Martin from Holy Wisdom, Evan Dannells from Cadre and Lola's Hi/Lo Lounge, and Dan Marek from Rouxbe Online Culinary School. Harvest Gathering is REAP’s annual fall celebration of Indigenous knowledge, local food, and seasonal abundance, held at Yowela Farm in Stoughton on September 27, 2025. Hosted in collaboration with Oneida Tribal member Dan Cornelius, the event features cultural food workshops (like wild rice processing, corn nixtamalization, and husk doll making), a farm tour, and live music from Kichwa music group Kaymantakuna. The evening culminates in a family-style feast with ingredients grown and prepared in our region.
