Can’t express this enough. More than rubber band tension, it is important to open up that needlebar loop if you are having spitting issues. From what I have found, Unite and Win needles, Workhorse premium, and Black Claw are opened up quite well already; and may not need to be opened up. Other brands like Tat Soul have a tighter needlebar loop; not allowing for much angular movement. That tightness is what causes the needle to whip up and spit.
Testing out my pre-production #fullmonte machine. This has been on the back burner since 2020. I had been stumped on how to handle a few things to simplify and improve upon the concept. I’m now in the finish line of a nice little machine. Special thanks to my friend and longtime client @fiddle_bitch for filming and getting tattooed at the same time!
Dan here: Exciting news! Back in May 2025, I teamed up with @opusmercury to film a short documentary called “Hard Hits and True Grit : DK Rotary” and I can’t wait to share it with you! Join us for the premiere on YouTube on December 21, 2025, at 7 PM CST! 🎬✨ 🎉

Fan favorite Ghost Dog Revival colorways — back again. 💥💥💪💪
Fresh batch of @dankubin x @ciferri_adam Ghost Dog Revivals just landed in Pink x Gold and Seafoam x Gold — featuring 24k gold plated parts and custom HD powder coat finishes.
Adam’s ghost coil setup paired with Dan’s hinge mechanism — simple to run, wide range, and built for clean, crisp lines.
Medium speed liners for medium to large groupings — also excellent as fast color packers, or turn them down a bit for smooth blends and gradations.
Strong and consistent across a wide range of work — just adjust your voltage to dial it in.
Simple setup. Serious performance.
Pairs perfectly with the @dankubin Swift Tip setup for needle-on-bar tattooing 💪💪
Limited batch.

If really wanna know the really juicy trade secrets, comment “DOMINATE” 🤣🤣
Jk. The info is already out there; it’s just muddied up with a bunch of other misinformation.
Squeaky wheels get the grease. I have been meaning to make an RCA adapter for a hot minute; and keep finding other things to do instead.
-Ask long enough and I will start listening!!
Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised to see it actually doesn’t look terrible. (And happy to say it runs great with cartridges as well)
Usually I put a battery next to a machine of mine, and I just feel it’s like it’s such an insult to the aesthetic.
This feels very well balanced and gives a little extra mass in a good way to the aluminum grip option.
I will get these adapters on the site next week; as well as having the option to get them installed at or after time of purchase.
I have heard some feedback of folks wanting specific round needle grouping sizes for their Swifttips.
I want to share that as of lately, I have exclusively used the 9-18 tip for all my rounds. From tight 3-11’s (my typical size range.
When I developed the Swifttip system, I made the tip an elliptical/egg shape. It’s basically the bridge between round and diamond that gives excellent stability, but more forgiving as far as finding that “sweet spot” to get ink to flow.
The main issue I HAVE found is using too small of a tip for the needle grouping.
I recommend using the 9-18 for any straight/traditional grouping 9 and over.
If you want the simplest setup, just get 9-18 rounds for everything;
If you want the best fit, use the 1-5 for tight 3’s and singles
5-11 for tight 4-7’s
-and maybe up to a tight 9 or tight bug-pin 11 if you ride the tube tip.
If you read all the way to here, congratulations!🎉
Fresh new colors and a ton of options! I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback on the Full Monty. Surprisingly, I kinda like running it with cartridges. -never thought I would say that, and not mad about it either!
I have a few Full Monty’s up on the site! Can be selected as either standard needle or cartridge. -we have been figuring out the best way to display that ,and finally have it intuitive and easy. This is machine has a pen type ergonomics with a Sidewinder type hit. A lot of versatility, while still being simple, and as plug and play as you like. -A note about cartridges with this machine: I set them up a specific way for carts. When set up properly, it may be the best running cartridge machine I’ve made to date.
