Y’all, I think the TED Talk session last night was one of the most memorable moments of my life.
It was so wonderful getting to know Blake Worthington and hearing him play his music. I think he’s a fantastic songwriter, and I love his sound and his vibe. What an incredible speech he gave.
And then, of course, Amber Carrington — wow. Truly one of the best voices I’ve ever heard in my life. Her songwriting is so beautiful too. She is absolutely incredible, and I actually shed a tear during her speech. It was moving and beautiful.
I’m so honored to have been a part of this.
Maggie, thank you for your insanely good communication skills, organizational skills, your overall vibe, and for making something very uncomfortable — musicians giving speeches — feel comfortable. You created an environment where all of us could show up fully, and I really believe you brought out the best in us.
Big love to Stove Works for hosting this in such a beautiful artistic space. If you haven’t been to the Stove Works Gallery, you should definitely go check it out. It’s full of wonderful artwork, great exhibits, and so much creativity — and you can just walk in and experience it.
Lastly, I want to thank my beautiful partner, Jess Reeves, for tirelessly working with me on this speech: listening to it over and over, giving me notes, helping me with my nerves, and creating a safe, comfortable space for me to shape something that was honestly very difficult and challenging for me to do. I owe a lot of this speech to you. That kind of support is rare and priceless, and I love you and appreciate you more than words can express!!!! I’m a lucky guy!!💗
