I’m deeply grateful for how far this journey continues to go. Our film The Weekend is now streaming on HBO Max across 15 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Nearly two years after its invitation to World Premiere at Tribeca, it’s incredibly humbling to see the film still finding new homes and new audiences around the world. What makes this moment even more special is knowing that The Weekend is the first independently produced Nigerian thriller to be on the platform. It’s a reminder that stories from our part of the world can travel far when they are told with conviction, craft, and belief. Thank you to the cast, crew, and everyone who supported and championed the film along the way. I’m truly proud of what we created together. The journey continues. 🎬

IT’S A WRAP ON THE PRODUCTION OF THE SECRET LIVES OF BABA SEGI’S WIVES After seven years away from theatrical cinema, EbonyLife returns to the big screen. While we have continued creating and building across streaming, film, hospitality, creative development, and cinema exhibition, the time has now come for our return to cinemas with a story worthy of the moment. EbonyLife, together with its partners, proudly announces the completion of production on The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, the definitive screen adaptation of the celebrated novel by acclaimed Nigerian author @lolashoneyylin . This landmark production brings together EbonyLife Media alongside leading exhibition and distribution partners @genesispictures , @thenileentertainment , and @silverbirdpictures , together with @flytimehq , a powerhouse in music, event production and live entertainment, reinforcing the scale and cultural ambition behind this release. Then there is our exceptional crew, our visionary director, and a cast unlike anything audiences have seen brought together before. Bold, iconic, and remarkably assembled. We proudly unveiled this extraordinary ensemble in January, and very soon we will reveal the roles each actor brings to life inside Baba Segi’s unforgettable household. Production is officially wrapped. The secrets are ready. The household is complete. Baba Segi awaits. In cinemas December 4, 2026. The countdown begins.

Daniel Oriahi set out to make a film that would travel and ‘The Weekend’ continues to do just that. Following its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival( 2024) and subsequent screenings at the BFI London Film Festival and Screamfest Horror Film Festival, the thriller has now expanded its reach with a streaming release on HBO MAX across Central and Eastern Europe. With its growing international footprint, the film appears to be fulfilling the very intention behind its creation, to find audiences beyond its home market. ‘The Weekend’ is currently available to stream in Nigeria on Circuit Streams and Kava, and on HBO Max across Central and Eastern Europe.
