Overlooked — a true celebration of colour, process, collaboration, joy of making and of course screenprint! 🎉🌈
Such a large project I’ve enjoyed working on for several months, it’s hard to surmise into an instagram post but this project will always be a career milestone. Thank you to @marina_willer and @pentagramdesign for another beautiful collaboration. It has meant everything. ✨
x20 limited-edition posters, each meticulously produced as sets of x50 B1 prints. Hand printed from my Yorkshire studio. 🎨
From the initial colour and paper tests, to exposing 16 individual custom-made screens, to printing every layer of ink, to delivering in person and having Marina visit the studio to sign prints — every step has been incredible.
The @l_d_f_official exhibition brought together this celebration of print in an industrial space under the railway at Bankside District’s @boroughyards — it attracted several hundred visitors from around the world over the nine days of the festival and hosting a sold-out live workshop with Marina where participants of all ages could create their own designs as a response to the surrounding Overlooked prints was truly special.
The limited edition posters are available to purchase at overlookedprints.com
Hands down, absolute project of the year! Collaborating with the one and only @mrwilley
A year in the making, (amidst relocating from London to Yorkshire and self-building my new studio) I’m so proud to finally present these beyond-beautiful large format screenprints.
We both shared a passion to reproduce the UN75 stamps Matt had designed as large as possible and bring the overprints to life using pure pigment inks.
Strictly limited to a total 75 prints, split across three denominations (CHF / US$ / €) we produced 25 of each stamp on 410gsm tub-sized Somerset at Antiquarian format (53 x 31 inch)
This is more than ink on paper, each print represents a labour of love, a friendship and a kinship for what print can achieve. Print is personal.
A very limited number of these will be made available for purchase in the New Year. Email [email protected] for enquiries. Thank you.

Almost two years in the making and over a decade in planning, thinking and dreaming. Fluoro beams, YKB washout, birch ply desk, the infamous yellow stairs, corner window and my beloved Kippax table. It means everything to own this and have the entire screen process under one roof. From screen to print. Forever.
CAN’T WAIT for @northerndesignfestival ! I’ll be in Lancaster this Thursday (12–1:30pm) hosting a screenprinting workshop @kanteenalancaster , bringing a dozen screens, x4 presses & squeegees and loads of ink & paper! It’s going to be SOOOO good.
This year’s festival theme is all about Heritage and I’ve developed a unique set of screens that explore our creative processes and the places we come from using the beautiful @f37foundry typeface, layering inks and shapes to create your own A3 screenprinted multiple colour poster!

Using this year’s theme of Heritage — to me, it is a layering process of everywhere I’ve called home. From my birth in Fife, to my current home of Saltburn, each location has left a mark on my upbringing and identity.
This 6-color screenprint visualises how these distinct chapters overprint onto one another to create the person I am today.
815 x 1120mm using @f37foundry Lancer typeface, with thanks to @jamescropperpaper for the substantial boardweight material — I love how it stands on it’s own.
Much appreciation and thanks to Northern Design Festival for inviting me to contribute to this series, it’s meant a lot to design + print something so personal.

A peek into the process of independent screenprinter Dan Mather — bringing 15 years of craft into this 6-colour print using Lancer.
“Heritage is a layering of everywhere I’ve called home.”
We’re so excited to feature Dan as the first in this year’s Heritage: A Designer’s Response series. More to come 👀

Introducing our new series for our Heritage theme: A Designer’s Response #1 🖌️
Come with us, behind the silkscreen of independent screenprinter and graphic artist, Dan Mather! With 15 years of experience, Dan has collaborated with design agencies and brands across the world.
After moving out of London, Dan settled into a home studio in North Yorkshire, where he produced this fantastic piece, Layers of Life. A 6-colour screenprint created with hand-pulled overprinted fluorescent inks and the @f37foundry x NDF typeface, Lancer.
We couldn’t be more thankful to feature Dan’s submission as the first in this year’s line-up of amazing artworks. 😍

DELAYED GREEN
Many years ago, Alan Fletcher and I enjoyed swapping nonsensical destination names. These included such real places as Pink Green and Avenue Rd. I photographed many I’d found and gave them to him for his book — “Picturing and Poeting”. Since then, I occasionally stumble on other beautiful incongruities. Inspired by Duchamp’s love for the idea of ‘Delay’, this notion of being able to delay a colour is the first in a series of screen prints honouring ready-made anomalies.
Originally I made a set of these for my partners, and then folk started asking for copies. Hence this new edition.

A visit to @jamescropperpaper earlier this week left me in awe of the art of paper-making. Seeing the process up close, from the gentle sounds of the River Kent flowing outside, and feeling the pulp come to life as reams of paper was truly captivating. Special thanks to Jordan and Josh for making it happen, and to @d8__studio for the intro.
