For those who remember, Grayson Springs was once home to legendary Spring Jubilees—a reason to gather, to celebrate, to mark the season turning. This year, we’re bringing that spirit back. Here’s what’s waiting for you:
Live music from @mrtlwg , A bluegrass band from the Owensboro Community & Technical College Bluegrass & Traditional Music Program, BBQ dinners for purchase from Bluegrass BBQ and Square dancing led by Greer Hannan who has a gift for making even first-timers feel right at home. If you can walk, you can dance—and she’ll prove it. We can’t wait to see all y’all there. April 25, 2026 4-8 pm Tickets on sale now. Link in bio. $10 for adults, free for kids 15 and under (but they do need a reserved spot) Special thanks to the supporting sponsors Wilson Muir Bank, @graysoncountytourism and Grayson County Healthcare Foundation.

Ok let's try this again. I'll be at @motrpub in Cincinnati, OH on Dec. 17th for the last night of the @lookingfordyan residency, and will hit the stage right at 8:30pm (a half hour earlier than usual), opening the night for some wonderful artists. Sincerest apologies to anyone expecting me on the 3rd -- hope I can make it up to you. (photo by Nina Rojas)

Happy nine years to @danielmartinmoore ‘s Archives Vol. II ❤️ “Still, he thought of songs landlocked two hundred years, living in coves and hollers, far from home, by creeks and waterfalls, and springdrain trickles,—songs that still remembered the salt salt sea and held all past time green in the month of May and made all love and death and sorrow sweet.” “These lines from Kentucky poet Jim Wayne Miller’s poem titled “Harvest” remind us of what Daniel Martin Moore has realized with this release of traditional songs. The tracks collected in Archives Vol. II are what Moore calls “beloved old tunes,” what the mountain person in Miller’s poem would call simply “old love songs.” Here are the primordial tunes recollected and sung once more for contemporary listeners. And who better to illuminate the heart’s bloom and ache in these songs than Daniel Martin Moore? A singer’s singer he is, and with not much more than an occasional gentle guitar accompaniment, he invites us to revel in “all love and death and sorrow sweet.” Available in our web-store, streaming, and on Bandcamp. #danielmartinmoore #archivesvolII #archives #folkmusic #folksongs #folk #kentuckymusic #kentucky #acoustic #acousticmusic #tape #taperecording #songwriter #singersongwriter

i got to play some keys on this song that will enter the wider world on friday. it's written and performed by my friend mike montgomery, as a part of a new project he's made called nervous verbs. mike's songs are full of vivid imagery, and he has a real knack for pulling observations together to create quiet visions, temporary glimpses into fully-formed worlds that are going on around, with, and without us. hope you'll tune in.

15 years ago, on october 7, 2008, the album “stray age” was released by @subpop . it was my first record, my first experience doing any kind of professional recording, and the making of it is a collection of memories that i have treasured all these years. here’s a video pieced together from from some long-lost, 8mm footage that was shot during the recording sessions in los angeles by my friend @nickkorbee we’d planned to make a little documentary / short film with the footage, but unbeknownst to us, the camera was malfunctioning for much of the time we were using it, and very little of the hour-plus of film was exposed well enough to be usable. bummed but undeterred, sometime in 2008 my dad & i set up his old projector in the basement and used a camcorder to record the projected images — essentially bootlegging the film — to get it onto tape, determined to salvage what we could. that mini dv cassette rattled around in the back of my desk drawer for a decade, until i found it, realized what it was, and then had it converted to a digital file. i was watching through the footage when i suddenly heard my dad’s voice at the end of one of the reels. i wasn’t at all prepared for that. he passed away in 2011, and i hadn’t heard his recorded voice in a few years. it was overwhelming, and so welcomed, and sad, and also surprising at just how ordinary and nonchalant a conversation can be with someone who is so beloved. from that experience i wrote the song, “unexpectedly” that was on the 2019 album “never look away” and is the sound track to this video. seth kauffman ( @floatingaction ) plays the drums, bass, and electric guitars, and @dandorffjr plays piano.
