Phabulous lighting at the one mile mark of the Phunt 50M/50k/25k ultra marathon this morning. Phunters we're gleaming ear to ear this phine but phrigid winter morning with temps hovering around 16 degrees with a wind-chill of 6 degrees. 🥶 Keep an eye out this week phor more ph*cking phantasic Phunt moments from one of your Phuntographer crew...known at Aid Station 3 as Dani girl.

Sunday, April 14, I was given an opportunity to capture promo images for @circusbearproductions for their pre-ride of the @the_spring_xc_at_fair_hill bike race (this Sunday April 28th!).
One of the messages this event put out was that women love to mountain bike and they are damn good at it. (I've witnessed this first hand 😉) There has been a recent movement toward equal payout for women and men in all categories of racing. This race will have equal payouts as well as have additional categories not offered to women in most other bike races (some group riders of all age together or have them compete in the men's category 😔). @rebeccalew_ is leading the charge to bring women together on the trails. She also pushed me to take on this assignment having never covered a bike event before. What's better than getting to document and ride around the course cheering on the riders?? (If you follow my personal account @dz_run_climb_bike_art you know MTB is one of my top loves in life 😊) These are just a few of the many images I hope will be utilized to empower women to pedal, crank, hop, and rip around their favorite part of the woods. Bonus if they help advocate change for equal categories/prizes for women in competition.
Great meeting all those that were out on the course that day! Best wishes on all the racing this weekend! Have fun first, always.
If you are borderline about trying out a mountain bike race I highly recommend giving this one a go. I've ridden this course a bunch and it's great for all skill levels.

For all you trail runners out there... I was out Saturday January 19th volunteering at the Phunt Trail Race in Fair Hill Maryland State Park put on by the local Traildawgs running club. These few pics are among my favorite from the first location I photographed from that morning. There were so many smiling faces coming up that first hilly, snow covered gravel section to the 1 mile left turn onto the field trail. It brightened my day even though I very much wished to be running and couldn't since recovering from back surgery in December.
