On view until May 8th. Ideas to Postpone the End of the World is titled after the book by renowned Indigenous activist Ailton Krenak and features works from the âSpeaking Truth to Power â series by Julia Csekö, which highlight writings by women, BIPOC, Latinx, and LGBTQIA thinkers who interrogate power structures and systemic injustice. In the RSM Gallery, Csekö draws from texts by Hannah Arendt, Julian Assange, Angela Davis, Diane di Prima, Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz, Paulo Freire, and Ailton Krenak. The artistâs interlocked color blocked shades draw in the viewer and disrupt linear narratives, while the playful letter spacing creates ambiguities that slow down visual reading and provide opportunities for critique and dialogue. đž @danthemanphoto

Thank you everyone who came out to @somervillemuseum yesterday for our artist + curator walkthrough. It was so wonderful to have the artists work and words speaking about their process and connections between craft, care and creative practice in a space that houses the grand staircase from the first location of McLean Hospital. @lady__of__leisure spoke to the power of joy and the legacy of creative handwork @janjohnson1704 described the overlaps of drawing through sewing family linens to map connection and evolution.
@bertypark asserted the radical potential of okay and of asserting oneâs own choices about value. I am so grateful to my co-curator @rasumay and to all the artists in the show for bringing their work to these conversation with us.
