Just a couple trolls. 🫶
Thank you to @thomasdambo for creating these whimsical wooden trolls made from recycled materials. I learned there’s a map of all of them and I fully intend to visit them all. @nordicmuseum

I’m so happy to have illustrated this middle-grade memoir written by Ella Morrissey. This book was a wish granted through Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas, @makeawishmokan
Ella shares what it was like growing up before her heart transplant and her new beginnings afterwards. It was an honor to draw someone whose voice I truly admire! 💕
More illustrations coming soon! 💫

I’m Danielle. It’s been a minute, so here’s an introduction!
I’m an illustrator, comic artist, and educator based in St. Louis. I teach design and illustration to incredibly thoughtful college students. This mid-spin, holding-on-for-dear-life photo was taken at the City Museum. I’ve got a project I’m excited to share with you this week—stay tuned! 💫

My Grandma flew in from NZ, so Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, made the perfect halfway spot! Years apart, but it feels like no time has passed. Grateful for this time together—sending happiness your way! #kiwichristmas #kiwibird
A huge (36 x 48) poster for baby trees! I was asked to make a poster for my Illustrated Letterform class @samfox_mfa_ivc and I was drawn to this event by @forestreleaf . I had fun working with pastels and collecting leaves to make different textures. It’s a perfect day to plant bare root seedlings! 🌱 ☀️
It’s never too early or too late for a snack. Here’s a triptych of my favorite dous. 🥭

I like to draw like a preschooler on a bedroom wall. The bigger the surface, the more I can stretch out my arms, elbows, and fingertips. My 11x14 sketchbook has become my best, most inconvenient travel companion. It fits in no backpack. Here’s a couple 5-10 min sharpie impressions of interesting spaces! Yeah, I use wite-out and I’m not ashamed. 🎒

Part Three: Bring it to Life
I’m so grateful to the Chamber Foundation for this joyous experience. Thank you to all the drivers and pedestrians who stopped to cheer me on! I couldn’t believe the enthusiasm from people I’ve never met. And thank you to the friends/family who grabbed a sander or paintbrush to help me out. It was wildly fun and surprisingly peaceful to spend a week painting at a busy intersection under the sun. Until next time. 💕 @letspaintshermanoaks

Let’s Paint Sherman Oaks! Part Two: Capture the Story 🍃 My goal is to celebrate the animals, plants, and critters in our community. Even in an urban space there’s vibrant wildlife.
