Artist Spotlight: Danielle Diniz Cornell graduate and NYC-based freelance choreographer Danielle Diniz made her choreographic debut with Revolve last season. This year, Danielle is back to create a full-company world premiere in collaboration with composer Luther S. Allison. A bold, in-demand choreographer, Diniz has served as Artist in Residence at Tribeca BMCC via CUNY Dance Initiative, Co Artistic Director of Jazz Choreography Enterprises and has been commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow, St. Louis Ballet, the Ailey BFA program, Stars of American Ballet, Ballet Hartford, Central Utah Ballet/Chrysalis, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, St. Paul’s School ballet program, Accent Dance NYC, AVID Dance, Woman in Motion, East Coast Contemporary Ballet, Jersey City Ballet, Chevalier Ballet and Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance, among others. She recently spent a week in residence with Pointeworks, created a new work for Ballet Excel Ohio’s gala featuring two dancers from NYCB and will choreograph for Ohio Contemporary Ballet this summer. Diniz is known for her fast-footwork and confident choreographic style.
