Meet the Dancers // David Hochberg David is from New York City and began their dance training with Nadege Hottier and Edward Ellison. They danced professionally at Sarasota Ballet and Nevada Ballet Theatre before moving back to NYC to pursue a career freelancing. Since being back here they’ve danced with companies such as MorDance, The Metropolitan Opera, and many more. Meet the Dancers // Madeline Bez Madeline began her dance training in Arizona before moving to Canada to train at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Her career has taken her to dance with companies in Georgia, Oregon, China, and now NYC where she freelances. She has been a dancer with AVID since its founding and we are excited for her continued work with the company. Meet the Dancers // Ethan Schweitzer-Gaslin Ethan is a NYC based freelance dancer originally from Western Massachusetts. After graduating from North Carolina School of the Arts, Ethan danced with Oregon Ballet Theatre and then joined Ballet Idaho where he spent 8 years. From there he moved to NYC where he has been dancing with AVID since its founding. We can’t wait for Ethan to continue dancing with the company this season! Meet the Dancers // Anaka Weiss-Jones Originally from Colorado, Anaka has a wide range of training including studying at Alonso King LINES Ballet, Ballet X, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, to name a few places. Her professional career began at Klaipeda State Music Theater in Lithuania and upon returning to the United States, she’s been enjoying a vibrant freelance career based in both Colorado and NYC. Meet the Dancers // Thomas Caleb Roberts A South Carolina native, Caleb trained at both South Carolina’s Governor’s School for the Arts and North Carolina School for the Arts. His professional career began at Boston Ballet and has taken him to Cincinnati Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, and Fort Wayne Ballet. We’re excited to have Caleb back for his second season with AVID. Meet the Dancers // Sara Jumper Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sara has danced throughout the country with a variety of companies such Colorado Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and The Minnesota Ballet to name a few. Sara is now a freelance dancer based in NYC and has been dancing with AVID since its inaugural season. We can’t wait to continue working with Sara this season! This spring, AVID opened its doors to the choreographic process for a total of 5 open rehearsal events across NYC and Colorado. Thank you to all of the patrons who stepped into the studio with us to get a behind the scenes look into what it takes to create new work and put on a show. This summer we can’t wait to share the final results with you! Keep an eye out for our release of upcoming performances on the east coast and Colorado!
