Second of two new titles we're producing for Bound Art Book Fair this year...
Scarle by Daniel Jefferies
A work in progress test zine created after an artist residency attended late June this year.
The project begins his experiments in associations between hyper reality and identity through temporary sculptural installations. Using rudimentary 'lesser' found materials as a direct comparison to the artists questioning of their own potential as someone from a lower economic background.
The small publication enters into a metaphorical space after the centre page; outside of a lived reality and into one where confusion and truth reiterate the question, where is the line drawn between sculpture and photography? And can our perspective on what is readily available or mundane augment the idea of what constitutes AS sculpture.
All made possible due to the people at @manth.residency & @lenslabproject
Come by @boundartbookfair today until 4 to grab a copy or alternatively direct message and a copy can be sent out or collected locally in Leeds.
The walk home didn't last so long, piss hadn't dried in my jeans.
The photograph can act as a frozen manifestation of time and truth; so what happens when sincerity is removed from the photograph and the value of an accident is held with the same weight of the intentional image?
This publication is a compilation of images exploring the interaction between the self, memory and an altered landscape.

Daniel Jefferies @danieljefferies_ (Lincoln, UK, 2001) is one of the artists selected for Crateri residency in July 2025. A recent graduate from Leeds Arts University, he is beginning his journey as a photographer and visual artist with a bold, self-taught approach that merges technical skill with critical inquiry.
During the residency, he presents a sculptural photographic series exploring the relationship between form, material, and landscape. Using found objects—stones, wood, metal scraps—he constructs temporary installations in abandoned or overlooked rural sites, capturing them on film. Alongside these constructed scenes, he documents the surrounding environment, creating a visual dialogue between intervention and observation.
Influenced by contemporary practices in sculpture and photography, his work reflects a continuous interest in the poetic and political potential of everyday materials and in crafting narratives rooted in landscape, labor, and class.
