Last weeks Art Club session, through Blerina’s eyes (and lens!) 📷✨
“We met in the Roxby Community Garden and split into pairs whilst Jonathan introduced the task for the session. We had a series of prompts to follow and were given a loose trail around the area, noticing nature, materials, and different perspectives. We were encouraged to capture things as they felt in the moment and to explore how and why we take photos, not just what we capture. We even got to use instant thermal cameras, which was such a fun touch.
The weather started off cloudy but turned into a beautiful sunny day, which made the whole walk even more enjoyable.
It was another brilliant session - relaxed, creative, and a chance to be present in the moment”
- Blerina, Art Club participant
We had a great time today at Lincoln Greeners Community Garden, delivering an anthotype workshop for LensLab 🪴.
We experimented with Beetroot, Spinach, Paprika, Turmeric and Roses.
They’re now baking away for the next week or so, but we can’t to see the results. 👌

Zines in the making at Art Club 📸
Time spent at the Lens Lab Project studios trying out different ways of working with images. Lots of cutting, folding, and piecing things together to see what kind of story emerges!

📸Another recap of a recent Art Club session, from Blerina’s pov:
“We visited the Lens Lab studios where Jonathan and Wes introduced us to different styles of zine photography. Some people had a bit of experience, but for me it was all quite new, which made it really interesting to learn.
We created our own zines from scratch by choosing around 6 to 12 images and building a theme or storyline. Then we selected different papers, folded them, and stapled them into a simple booklet. I loved how hands-on it was, turning our photos into a little visual story. Everyone’s zines came out so different, which was really nice to see.
After that, Wes showed us another technique, creating an accordion-style photo album. We printed images, cut them into a long strip, and folded them into a compact album. This one felt more playful and creative.
I really enjoyed the session and would love to explore these techniques more.”
