Got a shout out from Aunty!!! On a day that is really painful for so many first Aussies I had mixed feelings about performing. The concert itself was a wonderful celebration of music and dance (no, no 16 bar tap solo from me) and a moment of respite for the brave emergency services in attendance.
I hope we have a day we can all celebrate sooner than later. Sharing the stage with so many talented indigenous and non indigenous performers and looking up at the opera house while the SSO soared behind me and the harbour lit up to the side of me just rammed home not only the breadth of talent here but also the beauty of the place we call home.
I was so lucky to do it and I will never forget it.

It was only brief but it was very special. Getting to sing this material on a stage in the middle of Sydney Harbour is about as good as it gets.

Joined by two of the best last night. @courtneymurphymusic came all the way from Perth to watch the show last night and @amaligolden made the treacherous trek from the eastern suburbs. It’s been 22 years since we met and it meant the world ❤️
