this project was born out of necessity and became a practice in deconstructing genre. bombs away was a breakthrough moment in the project, and became a kind of North Star moving forward. there was never really a second option for first single imo. it was made with some of my favorite people in the world: @grip@benjaminhomola@mallbangs tjthunder

sometimes, music is like a tattoo and stays with you forever. it forever stamps a moment in your life. the first bit of music I made after my father passed came out today, and it’s much like that. there’s a spirit inside of it that music for me that will never go away. maybe it’s a piece of my dad through me, maybe it’s my grief. whichever it is, I’m thankful it’s there to serve as a reminder of what we have to be thankful for: family, friends, music, art, community. im so thankful to have had this music to work on and express a profound experience through. its when we are at our lowest we turn to art to find the connective tissue of shared experience. thank you @mallbangs for the opportunity. thank you @tjthunder for always being there. thank you @benjaminhomola , @_connordowd , @mdhendler , and @doctormillice for lending your considerable talent to the project. happy release day BANGS. and happy birthday dad, i really miss you
