Had an amazing time in Vegas with my dear @lukafisher . Saw @davidbyrneofficial , strolled the vast corridors of the temples of sin, stayed in a majestic forest and hunted for hole art (found plenty). Oddly enough, everywhere we went there was pleasant bird song playing through hidden speakers.
Everything takes more time. Young bodies merged and yearning in forums and on screens that surround me need to see us slow down. The wars rage on. The rich have always been like this. The people who say that this is unprecedented are suffering from amnesia. I was a child not so long ago too. I remember what normal was. It was every slur in the book and maybe a slap on the wrist. It was ‘learn to fight young or lose a tooth later’. Nothing about this is new except the size of the bombs used. We must learn from our mistakes. We didn’t fight big enough and the people we used to protect us are toothless. Bite down now. Bury yourself in words. Fuck like it’s revolution again and be heard. They’re coming for you next.
Recharging, dispersing the energy in to friends, art and music; living a small life while dreaming of bigger things. It’s hard to know what to do now and days but I refuse to allow the sins that surround us to take my spirit.
Change IS coming. Much of it will be horrifying at first but we do not stop then. We cannot be defeated, even in d**th. Pick up your books and research how we survived. Look at WHAT we’ve survived. We are not individuals fighting some behemoth, we are collections of ideas passed down through generations, through leaders and their stories and they believed in us. We must believe in ourselves no matter how bleak the future seems. We are the ones who build it.
