Practice Session #2
I was really focused on composition and color grading. I’m still learning how to properly grade and find what I like to do and what my personal taste is, but it’s coming a long. If you want original footage, let me know. I’ll send it to you.
Clip 1. I tried to clean my mirror 😩 oh well.. the shot is what matters 😂
Clip 2. This shot is originally bright and super sunny, so I graded it to be the complete opposite. I think I got pretty close to my intentions, but still need some practice. (If you want to see the before clip, I’ll dm you)
Clip 3. I’m currently looking for dope openings and playing with potential ideas for future vids. This entire look was one of them. Thought it was worth sharing 🤷🏾♂️
Clip 4. I’m really proud of this color grade. It’s simple, but it’s really effective and I achieved the look I was going for 🙌🏾
Clip 5. This is my favorite out of the entire practice session. There are so many stories I can come up with when I look at this shot. That’s kind of the point of me practicing. When I’m ready to tell a specific story, I’ll know how to. What story do you see with this scene?
Final thoughts: I’m having fun. I’m studying. I’m healing in ways I didn’t know I needed.
Life update:
I’m learning, building, creating, and living 😌
1. I was gifted an old camera, so I decided to give it a new life through a different lens.. my lens on life 📸 I’ve always loved filmmaking, I just stopped doing it for a long time because of life, money, and career. However, I’m falling in love with it in a way a didn’t realize was possible. So here are some practice shots I got recently. Practicing and studying cinema has done so much for me this year.
2. I’ve been creating on the low. Got some big announcements coming soon 😬… let’s start with that podcast I mentioned a lot time ago 😅. I’ve been working on it. More Than An Eight Count in podcast form coming to you very soon.
3. My relationship with dance is changing. We are entering a new stage and that’s exciting and scary.. however, I’m learning I can still give it care and attention while I explore old flames. So I’ll be sharing more of this kind of content on this page 😌 I’ll still share dance posts. Honestly me practicing cinematography is making me want to create more dance projects/films whether that’s myself or with other people. 👀anyone wanna be in a video? 🤷🏾♂️😂

Daniel is an Austin, Texas native who is currently creating and producing dance work in Austin Texas. He has been teaching and choreographing for 13 years and directing for 11. His purpose is to help build the dance community by providing more opportunity for all dancers, professional or non professional, and share work and knowledge so that the art form stays fruitful and rich.
Our motive isn’t to bring in guests who are out of reach just to elevate our image—it’s to invest in growth. We bring in people we genuinely look up to so our team can learn, be stretched, and so we can continue building and strengthening the Texas dance community together.

2025 - the year of change 😌
I can definitely feel myself going back to where I used to be creatively. The 2025 advanced combos really did a lot for me, so I had to share my favorites from this year.
But before I do, I’d like to THANK YOU for taking class this year. Without you, there is no class to teach. Thx for rocking with me. I will continue to rock with you this next chapter 🙌🏾 shout out @evengroundtx for giving me a place to exchange and share 😌

What a fairytale of a week it has been✨
Daniel and I are so thankful to have celebrated such a momentous occasion surrounded by those we love the most. Huge thank you to everyone who played a crucial role in our special day- we couldn’t have done it without you all. We were asked many times leading up to the wedding if either of us were nervous…the answer was always no. It just felt right. After 9 years of loving each other and a whole life ahead of us, we are more than certain that we are meant to be.
@lilbits_of_beauty and @hairstylist_natalie you are seriously both magicians of beauty! Thank you for glamming me up and making me feel so beautiful on my special day. You are both such beautiful humans and artists. I have so much love for you both!🫶
@ohayitsjason and @elliegonz99 - we could not be more thankful for your friendship. You were easily the most perfect people we could ask to capture this moment for us. We love you both sm and are so thankful to have spent this trip together. We only hope that our relationships grow closer as the years go on.

This has been sitting for over 5 months now.. never finished the project like I wanted, but I realized I shouldn’t keep it hidden even if I don’t meet the end goal.
Because honestly, I’m pretty proud of this piece and I think the process making it was a wake up call for me. This isn’t even the finished piece. The ending for the full piece is too emotional for me to share right now. I’m not ready for that yet, but I will be in the future.
