1/2 Cyanotype fabric🐦⬛
A little animation test I did this summer with cyanotype fabric✨
📷It resembles early developing photographic techniques.
🖤In a dark room you take your special fabric and put on top of it a transparent sheet with your drawing in black.
🌞 Then you leave it in the sun, being careful that the fabric and the sheet don’t move.
💧 After a while you rinse in cold water (or at least I remember it being cold water) and voilà ! The black lines of your drawing will be white and the rest blue.

A couple of months ago I made an illustration around the theme “water and the city” in embroidery. I took a couple of pictures of the process because I loved how each step looked and didn’t want to forget it. I especially like the one without the water colored in, just the houses, and I think it could have stayed that way.
I always forget how long embroidery takes, sewing all those little houses was a nightmare.
