10 years ago, I was introduced to horse riding while volunteering with sled dogs in Lapland, Finland. Around that same time, I chanced upon a film, Tales of the Wild - Gaucho. Something about it stayed with me - the rhythm, the stillness, the quiet intensity of a life so far removed from my own in Singapore.
Inspired by the cinematography and the story of @jakotango I reached out in 2018. Between then and now, I carried a quiet thought with me: if I were ever to do this adventure, I had to learn to ride properly. What followed were three years of learning, falling, and finding my place in the world of horse riding. And now, that dream has come full circle - an opportunity of a lifetime to be a part of it.
In the valley of Jakotango, through Mother Nature’s expression, the gentle shedding from volcanic dust, the cleansing grace of cold crisp rain, and the warm kiss of the radiant orb - the spirit awakens, adorned in seven radiant hues.
To the team, fellow riders, and Pork Chop, muchas gracias chicos.
Patagonia has long lived in the corner of my mind. In 2023, I had a slightest ever encounter with Patagonia while I was on the plane en route to Ushuaia where I had to depart for the sailing expedition to Antarctica, South Georgia Island and across the South Atlantic Ocean. In that moment, admiring at the jagged snow capped mountain ranges, I told myself, I’ll return.
This February, I did. And these are a few postcards from that long-awaited reunion - Patagonia, in Argentina and Chile.
