"endogenous breakthrough" {1st iteration} ~ really proud to share my piece I made last week at @champsglassgames @champstradeshows . Going off the theme 'from inner space to Outer Space', I decided to explore the intriguing concept of the fact that our brains are constantly producing DMT ~ a ridiculously powerful psychedelic molecule which frequently blasts off its exogenous users into alien landscapes and intelligent conversations with otherworldly being. It can't be a coincidence that this intergalactic tool is being created in our brains endogenously for "no apparent reason" all the time... πŸ‘½πŸ§ πŸŒ€πŸ€” I'm very stoked that with some assistance and advising from the mad scientist @brucesuba I was able to pull off an improvised convention center plasma fill and make (one of) the first successful neon pieces during a champs glass game. I'm not very stoked that my initial design of this neon chamber sitting atop a technically advanced water piece flopped not once but twice. Still very happy I was able to keep my cool and pivot in the last hour or two of glassblowing to pull off an improv Sherlock that still incorporated the micro sculptures which would have been inside the piece. Little human meditating on top of a DMT mandala portal is the protagonist, using his endogenous DMT release to get in touch with his interdimensional alien higher self that's floating in a galactic and/or subatomic cloud of neon, or something... Had too much fun sharing the magic of neon with so many.. Excited to revisit/repair this piece soon. Bigups to @nikocray @sdryno @burtoniglass and all the others who came, saw, and conquered [,or showed up at all] πŸ€˜πŸ™Œ #glass #champs #vegas #science? #neon

En route to Vegas! Little flashback to the last two times I've had the honor of competing at @champsglassgames Masters... Made back in 2019 and 2020 in what feels like a different world, these two were huge milestones for me and earned 5th and 2nd place respectively! Those experiences were mega humbling and helped me get comfy making crazy things in public settings. Still feels surreal that I earned my spot in this Masters by being invited to judge last summer's games ~ talk about full circle. No spoilers for this year's piece, but let's just say I've set up a noble challenge for myself and I'm excited to see if I can pull it off... Quick lil preview at the end. Really stoked for this week, super looking forwards to seeing what everybody makes and catching up with a bunch of y'all πŸŒžπŸ€™βš‘πŸ€“πŸš€ First video by @iamjeffdimarco #vegas #champs #glass

Really happy to share this micro goblet!! Perfect for exquisitely small sips of your favorite liquids, or to bring some classy refinement to any display of doodads. Squeezed a ton of details into this cup that measures just shy of 3", featuring a ton of UV accents including a rare (and admittedly fragile ~ handle with care) "exposed" molecule! Holler with any inquiries/questions, this one's looking for a new home #glass #science #art #goblet #miniatures

Happy Bicycle Day to all! No better day than today to share this @johnathansinger remix of my bicycle day tribute pendant from last year! I'm so proud of us humans and how many weird creative routes we've unlocked in the 83 years since Dr. Albert Hofmann became the first human to intentionally ingest LSD, his 'problem child' created in the labs of Sandoz in Basel, Switzerland. There's way too much lore and interesting tidbits about his bike ride home from the lab that day and the subsequent decades of his peculiar discovery's impact on modern society and culture, in both obviously direct ways and in very subtle connect-the-dots borderline conspiracy ways to squeeze into one caption! Highly recommend doing some reading/research into it if this post piques your curiosity in the slightest. Anyways, I'm having a blast displaying and creating art at @bicycledaysf ~ last night was great and tonight's the real party, don't miss out. Happy holidays and safe bike rides to all πŸ₯³ 🚲πŸ”₯πŸŒžπŸŒ€ 1: @johnathansinger remix of a @dmilldigital photo 2: this year's fresh Bicycle Day vial ft. Tiny Albert riding tiny bicycle! Stoked to unveil some new work ~ and to make some new work ~ at this doozy of a Bicycle Day shindig!! πŸ”₯πŸ”ŽπŸ« πŸš²πŸŒžπŸ§¬πŸ’› Not too late to hop on the bus! Tix available on the Midway website: two nights full of music, art, hijinks, and silliness celebrating the origins of modern psychedelia! Honored to represent in the heart of a city and region so impacted by Dr Hofmann's 'problem child'... Swipe over for a few sneak peeks of fresh work I'll be displaying there. And when you get there keep an eye out for story posts about where in the event I end up setting up my station ~ swing by, say hi, and watch some micro magic πŸ€“πŸ™βœŒοΈ@tribe13gallery @bicycledaysf #glass #bicycles #bicycledaysf #sanfrancisco #tribe13

Little blast from the past! I recently rediscovered this pendant collab I made with @santacruzglasspics way back in maybe 2018 or late 2017! Featuring some nice line work and a few little sculptural feathers around a DMT molecule, this was among the first dozen or so pendants I ever put together with more than just a clear disc around the structure. The loop had broken at some point over the years and this was made well before I started making them fully closed off... A quick surgery and upgrade, and now it's sitting just as pretty as any piece I'd release today! Love glass and its timelessness. Find it on my website to scoop πŸ€“πŸ™πŸŒžπŸŒ€ #glass #spiritmolecule #relic #timecapsule

A cube* fit for a queen** πŸπŸŒ€πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ”ŽπŸ’ Found this little honeybee dried up on the corner of my glassblowing bench recently. I've always said that my micro processes are a meditation, and what started as a quick "rough and silly" concept of building a frame around the bee evolved into an existential journey wanting to make something just right for this humble little insect.... Pouring my own focus and intent into creating a silicate tomb of sorts to honor the legacy of this little pollinator, pondering all its journeys during its short life and appreciating how many flowers I've enjoyed due to it and its homies braving the big industrial human world. Grateful for all the little things in existence πŸ™πŸŒ± *tesseract **Worker bee πŸ€“ 100% borosilicate glass + honeybee. Clear 1mm rod for the framework. The honeybee is supported by a very tight double prong "fork" of glass wedged between its thorax and abdomen. #glass #entymology #science #art

Captured the last few micro moves on this fun little octahedral orbital doodad! πŸŒžπŸ”ŽπŸπŸŒ€πŸπŸ”ŽπŸ’›πŸŒž Pretty mesmerizing watching it spin if you ask me... Spring has me excited for new things, and I've got some nifty 4D plans for the display for this little one. Stay tuned and thanks for the patience, been awhile since I've shared a glimpse through the magnifying glass. #glass #orbital #subatomic #bumblebees #science

Made this terrarium recently for my love @jessykalauren and she really brought it to life! πŸ’šπŸŒžπŸŒ±πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±πŸŒžπŸ’š Such a magical little addition to our space. Hope to make more whimsical home goods like this for summertime markets and local shops, maybe the occasional website drop too. Crafting simple yet elegant things like this really scratches a different part of my brain than my mega intricate detailed micro work in a good way. #glass #terrarium #plantasia #fittonia
