7. filling out a cd jacket (again)

enjoy some photos, videos and musings on travel to oaxaca: riding in a waymo to phoenix skyharbor was convenient and surreal. it speeds up and brakes at a degree that nears on perfection. a driver’s seat seems sort of silly to include. attempted lane change at a red light - interesting. levels of security at the airport are a moving target. shoes on or off? bag in a bin or no? do electronics even come out? shoes definitely stay on but some folks voluntarily remove. packed a corded shaver. the cord itself is thoroughly prodded, wiped, scanned, x rayed. it seems obvious that luggage stores in airports are likely a poor business model. sitting at our gate, there is someone with a hat that has the word “trash” embroidered upside down and backwards. he chooses to don it backwards. next to me, a man intently reads a bible. the plane to houston is cutting edge. every seat is equipped with its own screen on the headrest and i get to choose from a variety of apple tv entertainment aided by single serving headphones (con gratis) to pacify myself through the flight. again, i find myself seated next to the bible reader. his point of focus has not changed. patches of turbulence. i’m halfway through ken kesey’s “one flew over the cukoo’s nest” but choose to watch a movie called “nuremburg” instead. it features an aging and increasingly rotund russell crowe. on a three tiered scale of great, fine, or bad - this movie rates as fine. a man seated in front of me chooses to watch the title i’ve neglected to read. i see now why kesey was so upset by the creative liberty the production team took in presenting the story from the nicholson character’s perspective and not chief bromden. my devout seat mate switches from the book of isaiah to a podcast titled “becoming like jesus”. he declines snack and beverage. rough landing in houston. we board a much less advanced aircraft for oaxaca. it is a more familiar flying experience and decidedly more comfortable with less tech. still, i neglect my book. better to worry about how far my rusty spanish can take us…
find me another woman that’ll let you put pizza ovens in the living room and run a take out restaurant from the house. don’t worry, i’ll wait. life with you is the best. let’s all wish @kels_and1 a happy birthday! love you to pieces
home trails always ride the best this time of year. we had a nice storm come through yesterday evening so i decided to take the gopro with me and had a nice lap in the hills this morning. xc bikes > everything
