To those of you who are new here or just stumbling across my page, welcome!!
I’m Holly - a flower lover, design curator, color aficionado, organization queen and dog mom.
Building Dancing Stems Design is my dream come true so I handle every project with obsessive attention to detail, unconditional care, meticulous communication and so much joy.
This work allows me to connect with incredibly kind and talented people (both industry professionals & clients), spend time in gorgeous NYC venues and continually develop my creative taste & perspective. I love nothing more than going to the flower market and getting to geek out over some fantastic new flower or foliage that I’ve never met before.
Thank you for being here! Stick around for beautiful things
xx

Spring is such a special time of the year. New life starts to sprout, buds start to bloom and everyone seems happier.
These on-the-bulb tulips from @floweraggregate reminded me that beautiful life emerges from dark hibernations.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers and mother figures who taught our couples what love looks like!
I adore when moms get involved in the planning process; flower design becomes a perfect team project.
I see you coming to site visits together with matching coffee cups, getting excited over flower choices and heading off to dress fittings after our meetings. Flower planning becomes a small excuse to share time together leading up to the big day.
And there’s nothing better than seeing moms (glammed up and looking AMAZING) beaming with love and pride as their babies get married.
One of the best parts about creating different arrangements is getting to play with different color palettes.
What color combo have you been obsessing over lately?
✨ Wedding Tip: consider how your flowers will actually be seen ✨
Ceremony flowers are usually only viewed from the front, so we focus all the flowers (i.e., budget) to one facing. There is also a secret back side that never sees the light of day.
Reception centerpieces are a little different. Guests are seated around them, so they are designed in full 360°, feeling balanced and beautiful from every angle.
This matters when you’re thinking about repurposing arrangements– a ceremony urn probably can’t be placed on a guest table. But it can go on a bar!
It’s all about designing with intention, so every arrangement looks its best from exactly where it’s meant to be enjoyed.
Florals… without the florals.
It’s not about less. It’s about intentionally creating a space that has been overgrown with foliage and textures
Would you go greenery-forward for your wedding?
