This year forced me to sloooooow down, be patient, and learn perspective.
4 months of caution, surgery, and recovery,
followed by 4 months of creating and collaborating and presenting my own work and feeling stronger than ever….
to only enter October with injury, pain, immobility, and practically imperceptible recovery.
I’m grateful for the friends around me 💛 for having access to good healthcare support, and just trying to keep my focus on slow steady steps 💪
1. Before endo excision and ovarian cyst removal surgery
2. My herniated discs MRI results 😅🥳
3. Making needing to walk with a cane a choreographic choice 😎

“The Shadows Lie” had it’s second showing last night! ✨
I am so grateful to these amazing women @stacie.c.cannon & @abri_m_c for their focus, commitment, vulnerability, and trust. This dance is equal parts of each of us, and only exists as it is because of their presence in it.
This dance would not exist at all without @traceydurbin . Both this piece and I are shaped by her movement style and philosophies, and her mentoring me through this rehearsal process has made it her piece as much as mine 🦋
