Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. A stage only comes alive because of its audience, and feeling that connection so deeply was truly special. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan @nlinjapan and Harper Road Films @harperroadfilms for supporting the launch of Dance to Connect and this performance. Your warm encouragement “This sounds like an exciting project!” gave us the courage to move forward. Dance connects people beyond culture, language, and genre, creating unexpected chemistry along the way. Performers and audience alike become creators of the space together. This is only the beginning. We hope to continue building bridges through dance and sharing experiences that leave people saying, “That was unforgettable.” Thank you for being part of this movement, and for supporting the growth of Dance to Connect. Created through five days of intense focus, presence, and creative exchange, this new work will have its world premiere this Friday in Act 1 of the festival performance. 今回「Moving Mountains」の衣装を担当するAnnemarije van Harten (アネマライエ・ファン・ハルテン)をご紹介。👗Dance to Connectの公演で世界初演される @mado_kary 出演のこの作品は、余った生地を活用して作られたアップサイクルな衣装にも注目です！💫 @annemarijevanharten はオランダを拠点に活動するコスチューム／ファッションデザイナー。 ハーグ王立芸術アカデミーでファッションとテキスタイルデザインを学びました。 ファッションとコンテンポラリーダンスの分野を横断しながら、国際的に活躍する振付家やパフォーミングアーティストとコラボレーションを重ねています。実験的なドレーピングや素材の表現力、そして衣服が身体とともに動くあり方への深い探求が、彼女の創作の原動力です。 詩的なミニマリズムと控えめなエレガンスを体現した舞台衣装は、強さと流動性をあわせ持つシルエットへと形づくられます。 彼女の作品は、ダンサー1人ひとりの個性や美しさを引き出し、衣装そのものがパフォーマンスの一部として機能することを目指しています。 —————- Introducing Annemarije van Harten, costume designer for Moving Mountains. 👗 This work choreographed by @ken_ossola_choreography , performed by @mado_kary and premiering at Dance to Connect, also features upcycled costumes created from leftover materials - something to look out for at the performance! @annemarijevanharten is an interdisciplinary costume and fashion designer based in the Netherlands. She studied Fashion and Textile Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Working at the intersection of fashion and contemporary dance, Annemarije collaborates with internationally renowned choreographers and performing artists. Her practice is driven by a deep fascination with experimental draping, the expressive qualities of materials, and the way garments move with the body. She creates stage costumes that embody poetic simplicity and understated elegance, shaped into strong yet fluid silhouettes. Through her work, she seeks to extend each performer’s unique beauty and artistic identity, allowing the costume to become an integral part of the performance itself.
