đ¨WORKSHOP ALERT đ¨
Step into the CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUE LABORATORY đ As part of their commissioned work with @dcdancenetwork , Brendan Drake, @brendandrakechoreography is hosting a workshop here at dance place!
**Time update 6:30-8:30PM**
What happens when we approach our dancing without trying so hard to âmake something happenâ? What can we let go of with regard to form, expectation, and movement trends to get to the ârealnessâ in our dancing?
This advanced-level class is geared toward professional and pre-professional dance artists interested in bridging the gap between technical practice and creative inquiry. Both an experimental movement lab and technique class, we will utilize a mix of anatomically mindful exercises, improvisation, contemporary phrase work, and conversation/group strategizing to build stronger dancing bodies and more robust in
dividual performance practices.

At Dance Place, Donald Leeâs work blossomed.
As a Dance & Disability Resident Artist, Donald Lee transformed raw experimentation into powerful performance entitled Fragility Cycle  for the International Human Rights Arts Festival. With the support of Dance Place, he challenged barriers and reimagined who is seen, valued, and given space to create.
Your support makes space for artists like Donald to take risks and create boldly.
