I spent days wondering whether or not to post this artwork. It was meant to come out by the end of the year, but I wasn’t sure. Then I came to a thought: who cares? Art is made to move people, and since that’s what I’ve always tried to do, I’ve finally decided to share it.
I want to wish a Happy New Year to those without a home and to those fortunate enough to have one; to those with a meal ready on the table and to those who struggle to feed themselves even once a day; to those setting off fireworks and to those whose homes are destroyed by bombs.
I wish for myself and for all of you a year where we seek, in our own small ways, to build peace and eliminate unnecessary and senseless cruelty towards others. I wish us all the strength to achieve our goals and to be free—both mentally and physically—from any kind of harm.
I wish everyone well, that tears may turn into smiles, and that we all find the strength to move forward. May the New Year bring hope, and may art continue to be art in all its forms.
Happy New Year to everyone.
