The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the intersections of memory, body, and time. Running from February 28 to April 5, the exhibition unfolds through the notions of interior and exterior, presence, past, and trace—encouraging visitors to engage not only with the works themselves but also with the spatial and historical context of the venue as an integral part of the experience. Damla Yalçın (d.1995, Ankara) 2009-2013 yılları arasında Ankara Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Lisesinde Resim Bölümü okudu ve birincilikle mezun oldu. 2013-2017 yılları arasında Marmara Üniversitesi Resim bölümüne girdikten sonra eğitiminin bir kısmını Akademia Sztuk Pieknych im. Wroclaw Polonya’da devam etti ve birincilikle mezun oldu. 2023 yılında girmiş olduğu Marmara Üniversitesi Tekstil Bölümü’nde sürdürülebilirlik ve biyotekstil üzerine yazmış olduğu teziyle Yüksek Lisans Programı’nı tamamladı. Türkiye’de ve yurt dışında (Almanya, Polonya, Korea, Hong Kong, Moldova, İtalya, Kıbrıs) birçok karma sergide yer aldı. Üç kişisel sergi açtı. En sonuncusu “bir ev, içerisinde yaşadığım” isminde geçtiğimiz Mart ayında 5533’de gerçekleştirdi. Türkiye, Moldova ve İtalya’da sanatçı ağırlama programlarında yer aldı. Çeşitti sanatçı konuşmalarının yanı sıra kültür sanat TV programlarına konuk oldu. Yaşamına ve üretimine İstanbul’da devam ediyor. Damla Yalcın studied in the Painting Department at Ankara Anatolian High School of Fine Arts between 2009 and 2013, graduating at the top of her class. Between 2013 and 2017, she attended the Painting Department at Marmara University. She continued part of her education at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland, graduating with top honors. In 2023, she completed her Master’s program in the Textile Department at Marmara University with a thesis on sustainability and bio-textiles. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad (Germany, Poland, Korea, Hong Kong, Moldova, Italy, and Cyprus), and has held three solo exhibitions, the most recent titled “a home, the one I live in,” which took place at 5533 this past March. She has taken part in artist residency programs in Turkey, Moldova, and Italy. In addition to various artist talks, she has been a guest on cultural and arts TV programs. She currently lives and works in Istanbul.
