8/22/22- I married my soul mate and started a new life with this wonderful woman I can now call my WIFE! Kara, you are my biggest blessing. I am so grateful to pursue God’s will with you. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” - Ecclesiastes 4:12 #thedalquists #noweddinghashtag #donttrip #fullsend PC: @sarah_e_photo

“Kara, Loving you is so easy and I adore you. Dating you has been the greatest joy of my life, and it would be the greatest honor to be your husband.” - What I wrote in my notes app and rehearsed many times but still messed up when the moment came. I am so blessed by this girl, she blows me away everyday. Thank you to everyone that helped make this day special at the spot where our relationship began!

RED-S = Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport A highly prevalent but often overlooked condition in athletes, especially distance runners. It’s a direct result of energy intake falling short of the body’s total demands. Whether under-fueling is intentional or unintentional, the outcome is the same: insufficient energy to support both training demands and baseline physiological function. Austen speaks openly about his experience with an eating disorder during college, and the downstream effects on his mental and physical health, and running performance. The consequences of RED-S ultimately escalated to a sacral stress fracture when he moved to Boulder to train post-collegiately. By sharing his story, Austen highlights the importance of fueling, not restriction, for elite performance and consistency in the sport. Full conversation on The HAX Show.

“I believe that God’s called me to the sport and given me this talent to share his joy and love with those in the sport around me, and show that you can still run fast and still enjoy it without making it your end all be all.” How do you live out faith in something as performance and ego driven as elite sport? Tune in to The HAX Show where Austen shares his journey navigating faith and how it’s shaped his mindset and approach to professional running––and to all aspects of life. Another Indoor season in the books! This season marked the 12th time I’ve laced up and run on an indoor track. At 30- I’m having more fun than ever chasing the dream. Grateful that I get to represent Jesus, my family, friends, coaches, @tracksmithrunning and Boulder ( specifically the @coloradoathleticsproject ) on some big stages- including the USA indoor championships last weekend in the 3k. I promise I don’t take it for granted. Let’s keep going… as always- THE BEST IS YET TO COME! #Thetourcontinues #godsplan 📸 1 and 2: @usatf 📸 3: @janfigueroa07

7- the number of completion! It feels like more often than not it is my race number and it also happens to be my favorite number. It’s a reminder to me of God’s design and plan for my life! With that said- season 15 of competing in Track and Field is finished and it was my favorite one yet. With some down time now in the books, I’m more excited than ever to begin again. #Godsplan #suckatquitting #tracksmithrunning #unc
