As part of the Dalhousie Tigers Mental Health Marathon, your men’s volleyball team took part in a games night.
This activity brought our team closer together, giving us a chance to bond, relax and show our competitive spirit.
During a stressful season of sports and school, it is important to keep in contact and check in with each other’s mental health.
We encourage you to challenge your friends to a board game!

Introducing Gabe Moshett, a libero on the men's volleyball team from Beechville, N.S.
More from Gabe below!
Who inspires you as a Black athlete or leader, past or present? And why?
Tynan Gannett, a national beach volleyball player from Dartmouth, and Tyler Simmons, a provincial coach, inspire me. They are both influential role models, who encourage me and show me that there is room for people like me in volleyball.
What message or advice would you share with the next generation of Black athletes?
Hold yourself to a high standard on and off the court, following your role models, and put in the work to become one yourself.
The Dalhousie Tigers recognize African Nova Scotians as a distinct people whose histories, legacies, and contributions have shaped and enriched Mi’kma’ki, in what is now known as Nova Scotia, for more than 400 years. We are honoured to celebrate Black History Month and the enduring impact of Black communities.
