Studio Dinners with Daimon emerged during the quiet uncertainty of the COVID years, a time marked by isolation and distance.
Every fortnight, Daimon opened his Bondi Beach home studio to a circle of creatives, inviting them to gather at his table. It was here that he intertwined his two great loves — cooking and art.
What began as intimate shared meals soon evolved into immersive art evenings. We would feast, drink wine, roll up our sleeves and paint whatever surfaced — uncertainty, hope, frustration, joy.
In a period defined by separation, these nights became about connection. Creativity flowed. And many unforgettable memories were made.
FEELS - The soft peach body feels almost childlike. Then that deep ultramarine crown dotted with white is like a night sky, or a mind buzzing with thoughts. It feels like emotion contained under a cosmic cap - LIMITED PRINT
HEADS - A series of digitally drawn, pop-centric faces reduced to their essential gestures.
No excess. No overworking. Just deliberate, controlled moves toward a resolved end.
Story time with @daimondowney . 🕯️
Plot twist: the real culprit is actually a Roman Emperor Elagabalus (aka Heliogabalus)… NOT Hyacinthus.
But let’s not let facts get in the way of a good story.
Maybe it’s time we rename this guy? 🤣
‘Shut the Fu€k Up’ (real title: ‘Fu€k the Shut Up’) is inspired by @daimon_downey and his occasional spoonerisms. Unfortunately, this was interpreted as a simple mix-up during web development 🫢
