Lesbian Visibility Day feels a little different here.
DACHA was never just about food or drinks. As a woman- and LGBTQ-owned space, Katya and Suki built something not everyone finds so easily. A place that feels like home.
Rooted in care, it’s a space where people feel seen, welcomed, and safe to be exactly who they are. Where you can walk in as you are and be met with warmth, and a real sense of belonging.
Together, they created something more than a restaurant, but a space shaped by love, community, and the intention to be inclusive to everyone who walks through the door.

Not everyone got the prom they deserved. So we’re rewriting it.
Holy Prom lands at DACHA on Friday, Jun 12, 6:30-10pm. A queer dance ritual where nostalgia loosens its grip and something freer takes over. The slow dances, the chaos, the electricity of a room where everyone actually belongs.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be holding court as chaperones. DJ Kirill spinning all night. Expect reverence, irreverence, and a dance floor that doesn’t let up. 90s/2000s energy, intentional moments, DACHA plates in rotation, and a crowd that shows up fully as themselves.
Prom looks encouraged. Expectations not required.

Have you tried Eastern European food in San Francisco? I personally haven’t had a lot of the cuisine in general, but after this dinner experience at DACHA, I’m obsessed. Every single dish was so flavorful, beautifully plated, and really creative.

Plus, they have excellent mocktails (Pearl Crescent comes with lychee boba!).
Aside from their incredible food, the space is super unique and special. They have multiple different, themed dining spaces. You have to see the magical forest room and tea room for yourself. And there are so many different details from the team and their families (all the paintings are done by Suki’s father!).
🌈 Opened in 2023, DACHA is beautifully women and queer-owned by the sweetest married couple (Katya & Suki). The feeling of community that they’ve created in the space is palpable.
Dacha means “summer house” in Russian.

Yes I came back for brunch! DACHA Kitchen and Bar is a cozy restaurant in San Francisco that brings the heartwarming flavors of Eastern Europe to life with a welcoming, inclusive vibe. What sets DACHA apart is its California twist on tradition, incorporating fresh, local ingredients and lighter cooking techniques without losing the essence of classic Eastern European flavors.
We kicked off our meal with a mimosa and their sea buckthorn lemonade, which instantly became my new favorite drink for its refreshing taste and health benefits. Then came the syrniki brulée—mini cottage cheese pancakes caramelized to perfection and served with raspberry jam—alongside Mama’s Dacha breakfast eggs, a comforting dish in a rich shakshuka-style tomato base. DACHA Kitchen and Bar is the perfect place to enjoy brunch on the weekend, to relax, savor, and connect—and I can’t wait to return— I guess the only thing left to try is lunch!
