Story time.
This was my first professional photoshoot — and it changed everything.
@tone_central was building his portfolio at uni. He saw opportunity. He saw the talent in me. I saw mine.
I went to the hair salon and told those women exactly what I wanted. Did my own makeup — back then, makeup artists weren’t in the budget.
The concept? Raw. Streets. Real.
Louie knew every corner of Leeds. We went everywhere — me, him, and my firstborn in her pram, her father right there, fuming that I was doing a shoot with another man.
I didn’t know exactly where it was all going. But throughout every shot I kept thinking: I deserve to be the artist I am.
So I did it. With fear. With rage. With a top stained with breast milk.
The photos from that day went into every major performance, every media feature, every platform — and they still do. Because that day is where my EP At My Own Risk was born.
So for the newbies in the Dabie Simul world — know this: I have a lot to prove. Not to you. To myself. I owe it to myself. To keep going.
I paid less than £100 for that shoot. It was far too little. Because Louie didn’t just give me pictures — he gave me the freedom to be who I am.
So — you really think I’m just a girl with a pretty voice, a pretty face, and a pretty body?
Think twice.
