This time last year, I started interning for an independent designer who was looking for tailors to help finish garments for a show. Last week, one of my best friends got to showcase their collection at NYFW.
It’s not every day that Queer Latino people from south Tx get to do cool shit like this. I am so beyond blessed and thankful to get to do what I love everyday. There is truly no feeling like working with someone who grew up in the same culture that I did and create beautiful garments that so clearly depict these nostalgic inspirations.
Nico, you are such an inspiration to me and I cannot thank you enough for sharing everything you have with me. Forever grateful of the friendship we have cultivated and so so proud of all the hard work you’ve done to get to where you are.
At the first show I worked for you I cried bc I knew I was right where I belonged. Last week I cried bc I could not believe something you had been manifesting was actually happening.

This past weekend i debuted my first collection, Chant Du Cygne. This was made possible after a semester of non stop working and very late nights fueled by endless amounts of Monsters and coffees.
I put together this silly AFW vlog for a class assignment and it was too good not to share. Expect to see some more content of the collection sometime soon!
First & foremost thank you to my family for their constant support, everything i make is with them in mind. I would like to thank the models who brought my collection to life on the runway, especially my two very beautiful and slay friends @itnotmikol & @rebecca.cedi . Thank you to @happaly & @rachelkarls for getting photos and vlog content on my 3DS. Thank you to my classmates for keeping me accountable and motivated all semester. And thank you so so much to @funkyfung1rl for staying in the lab with me till the butt crack of dawn and making this so much fun.
Looking forward to creating so much more cool stuff in the future, but for now enjoy my AFW experience on x8 speed and coconut mall playing over it.
