Throughout the night we engage the crowd in interactive movement such as the electric slide, soul trains and more. We make art together: @cydeva creates a unique drop in art activity for each event, so that you can get creative, play with art materials and try something new. In the past we have had activities like: collage, stamp art, watercolour painting, felt button making, sticker colouring, paint pen on a collective canvas mural and more. New rooms. New rhythms. New relationships. A few weeks ago I stepped into an Amapiano & Afro House dance community and I am so glad I did. What I found wasn’t just great music… it was people. Real ones. The kind who show up to move, to connect, and to feel alive…not to drink, not to perform, but to just be… That’s always been my kind of crowd. Here’s something I’ve learned on this journey through nursing, cancer, speaking, and financial education: the moment you start chasing what you love, you start finding who you need. The right people don’t appear when you’re hiding… they appear when you’re moving. Maya Angelou said it perfectly: “You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you.” This Instagram account is my gallery… raw, real, present and past.
